I have seen Linkin Park 3 times live, and I must say they are great live. I was also one of those people who listened to them occasionally, but after the live show I listen to them regularly now  jester.gif

I must say my responses may be jaded though, as I am a musician and I rate based on a plethera of factors!

American Idiot, is that out on the internet yet? I heard one song on the radio today. It still sounds like green day but it has a twist that I am not used to hearing from GD.

it is greenday... or are you saying that it sounds like greenday but not quite?

Bad Religion probably put on the best show I've ever seen, there was so much energy it was amazing.

After that, it would be:
Dropkick Murphys
Flogging Molly
Anti Flag
Tiger Army

Coheed scares me.
But Bad Religion was the headlining band on warped, so EAT IT.

Seeing them again on my birthday here in DC.

The best band Ive seen live is Nine Inch Nails. I knew nothing about them but saw them headline the second stage at glastonbury in 2000 and they blew me away! Since then they've been my favourite band hands down. No other band has done that for me.

Other very good live bands are Velvet Revolver, Muse, REM, Coldplay, Marilyn Manson, David Bowie.

Ive seen so many live bands (most of them good) its hard to list them.

Poor performaces ive seen include Incubus, Eminem, Manic Street Preachers.

That show is coming to London, Ontario on October 28!

I couldn't beleive Metallica was coming here, I'm pretty f'n pumped about it.

pop.gif

EDIT: Tickets are $100 CAN though, can you say GREEDY?  grr.gif

heh.. ticets were 55 USD for seasts and 75 USD for floor... BUT

your seeing 2 MULTIPlatinum selling bands.. that have no problems selling out every show on their tour on their own.. but they have joined forces.... and tickets to a godsmack show are usually ~35 USD.. so for 20 bucks more you get metallica... and trust me.. they DONT disapoint... godsmack plays for about an hour and 10 minutes.. and are an amazing live band.. and get the crowd going nuts... then metallica comes on.. and plays for 2 and a half hours (find me another band that plays that long) and totally kicks the crowds ass..

the intro to One is INCREDIBLE.. so much Pyro... explosions.. fireballs.. fireworks.. fires... the light rigging overhead catches on fire.. then it all explodes and the shit falls down close to the stage.. its awesome...

Got to see Caroline Spine and Nickelback a few years ago for a radio station's birthday bash (WRQT 95.7 The Rock - 957therock.com). There were two other bands there as well that I don't recall the names of (one from Chicago to replace whomever was supposed to open the show).

I'd like to see either Vader or Six Feet Under in concert, but I doubt I'd ever see Vader unless they do another American tour and stop in Chicago or Milwaukee (they're a polish speed metal band), and I have no idea what SFU is up to...oh well, I'll just try to hit up Ozzfest next year.

Saw Radiohead last year, and they put to rest any notions that they are no longer a "rock band".  They absolutely pwned.

Saw Pearl Jam June '03 and that was incredible.  I've been a fan since their first album, and been denied tours for countless reasons.  But it was worth the wait.  They closed with The Who's Baba O'Reilly, and I was screaming "Teenage Wasteland!" for weeks.

Saw Beck live in my college Student Center with less than 500 other people.  I can't describe that...  What a musician...

In '96 I saw DMB and Blues Traveler the same night in the HORDE tour.  Talk about a night of phenomenal musicians!

Saw U2 in 97, and will definately see them again next summer.  They are not only timeless musicians, they put on a SHOW that assaults your eyes as well as your ears and makes you feel like you're alone with them, despite being packed in a stadium.

Mars Volta is one of the most overrated bands in alternative music.

Joy Divsision live would be amazing.

Or I could see Godspeed You Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, or the Flaming Lips live.
