Metallica has really blown ass for the last ten years....

I love anything pre-1990 era metallica...  the shit after that has been

awefull...  If I had to pick one CD... I'd say Master of Puppets,

with Ride The Lightning coming in a very (extremely) close second.

I actually like the Black Album.  My only complaint about it was how overplayed it was.  Anyways I would say that for me it was a tie between Master of Puppets and Ride The Lightning.  Anyways I agree though that pretty much everything they have done in the last decade sucks ass.

yes, metallica did blow ass chunks in there later albums, only a couple from each were good
and the black album was overplayed like enter sandman
everyone likes that song and the ruin the metallica name by listening to the same god damn song over and over

Ride the Lightning, then Master of Puppets.  I'm old-school.

I agree 100% with Bloody Mary and skeen... the last album I really enjoyed was ...and Justice for All.

Their new stuff is... well... just OK.

I miss the old days.  One of the best shows I've ever been to was Monsters of Rock at the Orange Bowl in Miami in... ahem... 1988 I think.  General admission, I was all the way up front (and later in the mosh pit) with tons of fans for Metallica... it was wild.  Most of us were there primarilly for Metallica, although Van Halen, Scorpions, Dokken, and Kingdom Come (wtf) performed too.

who voted for reload? that was suprising to see.

Anyway as you can see from my avatar and sig I am a big metallica fan and I'd have to go with the black album, to this day I think fade to black is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard.

And I'm seriously tired of people badmouthing their later albums... I agree 100% they were not nearly as good as the earlier albums but it wasn't metallica who went downhill.. it was metal and rtock music that went downhill.  They just followed the ride.  Same thing with their new st. anger, I'm not a big fan of it but I'd rather listen to that then the other new heavy metal shit on the radio.

We need a band to change the times again just like the beatles, led zeppelin, black sabbath, metallica, guns and roses, and nirvana did.

I saw Metallica at Summer Sanitarium last year, and I plan to see them with Godsmack when they come my way later this year... I had to pick Master of Puppets, Sanitarium is just too damn cool.

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Good metal music is still to be had out there.  It just isn't the overplayed crap you hear on the radio.  I seriously recommend you check out some of the bands that use the nuclear blast or century media record labels and I think you will find that there is still alot of good metal music out there.  While I agree that alot of it is still crap it is still worth it to sift through 50 artists just to find one true gem that you would otherwise never have known about.  Anyways I realize that bands can't keep playing the exact same sound but there is a difference between completely changing a trademark sound and slowly making some changes but still keeping the majority of your original sound.  The fact of the matter is that if Metallica wasn't so worried about keeping their faces on MTV they could've kept going.

After the Black Album, they just became sellouts.  And the whole Napster deal, don't even get me started on that.  They spent years going against society, and became nothing but greedy douches.

yes they are sellouts and now with there new video game  rolleyes.gif
and about napster, if they didn't do it then im sure someone else would have
