Some Xbox To Tv Q's
« on: December 02, 2007, 12:34:00 PM »

Im looking in to getting my first hdtv and I was looking at the xbox and the ps3. The xbox runs in 720p perfect and the ps3 in 1080i. I was wondering if there is an hdtv that has both of the resolutions? And if so what would be the best tv brand or model to run with for clearity, picture, audio,  you kno the works.

Many TV's are capable of 720p-1080p (inc 1080i).  The one you choose really depends on the size you want and how much you're willing to pay.

if you get a 1080p set and plan to run a game in 1080i...Get a tv larger than 42".  I think 720p looks better than 1080i  IMO....less jagged and no flickering on my TV.
but if you are only going to get a 32" or something then it doesnt really matter much.

1080i/p is a wast of money on a 32in unless you're sitting 2-3ft from the screen or have super human vision

a chart showing the optimal resolution/screensize/seating distance for 20/20 vision:

you can bump the breaking point up one notch if you have better than 20/20 vision.
