Narrowed It Down To 4 46" 1080p Lcds
« on: March 29, 2007, 11:36:00 PM »

I'm a gamer, 360 of course.
I'm going to one of these from a friend who works at Best Buy using his employee discount which is COST + 5% I beleive.

I'm just stuck, is the Sony worth the extra $.
The Sharp has a nice picture.
And the Samsung is just a beautiful TV, Picture and look.

Sony Bravia

thats what I voted for.  I have a sony lcd and I love it.  I wish I could have afforded the latest Bravia 1080p, but my 55" of 720p/1080i high def is awesome (as long as my wife doesn't have the remote  wink.gif )

Dynamic contrast ratio, is when the TV automatically adjusts the backlight intensity, providing up to a 3x improvement in contrast. It's kind of cheating, but it does give the illusion of a higher contrast ratio, which does make the TV look better.

Your right though. It's not true contrast ratio

For your average tv show it looks good, but when you have movies/games that change brightness level a lot - it looks terrible, because there's a slight lag between the time when the overall image brightness changes and when the backlight changes.
