Topic: Fragging Afer Mod Chip Install (Read 35 times)

I have a v1.0 and just put a mod chip into it and now every time I plug the power cord in it powers up on its own, frags, and frags... now if I unplug the power cord, take out the chip from the pin header, it powers up as i should (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . Now I have used TWO chips, one new and one I know works, and both have the same result. Now I find that when I disconnect the BT point or the wire that goes to right side of R3G3 resistor, then it will not power up on its own (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) . I also did a continuity check and there does not seem to be a bridge anywhere. Does anyone have a suggesstion, or an alternate point that I could solder to, and maybe that will fix it. I have put the same chip into another xbox of the same version and had no problems so I am lost.

Check first you have not damaged the BT point resistor R3G3. Its 10K ohms. If its shot you will need to replace it.

or use the one from the duox 2 white edition. the auto start is from the bad BT install

the fragging is from the bad pin header install...
