I tried to get a code 3 times with different card sizes, and none of the three e-mails I received contained one.  What a fucking tease.

Edit: I tried one last time on a 320gb code and it worked. Yay.

Most of the time it seems they don't send any codes in the emails (even though there is a label for one in the email.) This program seems awfully fishy. I tried running it after I installed it and after i pushed the next button which allowed it connect to the internet (which is strike 2 after the fishy no-code emails) it said it had an error. I restarted it and it got past that problem allowing it to recognize my drives.

Quote from their Home page.
QUOTE
All hard disk drives have the possibility to set a hardware password, thus making the drive completely inaccessible unless a correct password is provided.

WRONG! I wish all hard drives were capable of being locked. Obviously these people haven't been around long if they think that statement is true.

BACK UP your EEPROMs people. Then, hopefully, you won't need money hungry programs like this.

Remember it is (supposedly) beta software meaning bugs are quite possible. I hope it does work as I have a couple stock hard drives that are still locked because I didn't unlock them when I installed the new, larger drives into those boxes and my old laptop hard drive crapped on me (the only place I backed up those EEPROMs.) So it would be nice to get those 2 or 3 drives avaible as replacement stock drives.

I appreciate the free trial but the way their software AND website works is BS. If it wasn't free, I'd wouldn't pay a dime for it.

I feel sorry for the people with locked large drives that have to rely on this. Good luck people.

Same here the email did not contain any unlock code.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
I've tried the 80gb and the 500gb.. no dice.

After submitting my email 5 times I finally got a code.  It's working on unlocking it now.  Too bad this isn't something the scene could have come up with for free.  Oh well, it free today.

Tried it out and it worked alright for me. I had a WD400 40 gig drive that I pulled from an xbox. Had quite a bit of trouble at first try to get the drive on the right ide cable, set to master and getting the comp to boot with it on with my windows drive as secondary master. So what I did was just leave the wd400 drive powered on but disconnected from the ide cable during the boot up. Once into windows I plugged in the ide cable and the program was able to pick up and format the drive just fine. As we speak, I'm having windows format the drive to NTFS.

As for the codes, I had no luck with getting them with the smaller sized "virtual cards". I was only able to get codes for the 160 gigs on up to 320 gigs. Otherwise I was getting emails with blank codes.

Here is one I can share as I don't need this one. Expect this one to be used quickly ...

Your Free Virtual Card Code: ZI263ROCSO7IPXQM

This code is valid till June 14, 2006,
and can be used to unlock a drive up to 250 GB.

i idid'nt seem to have any problems other then trying to figure how to use it. my pcs kinda old and would not boot with the locked drive set as slave, master, ect. this is what i did maybe can help a few people having problems. let me say first of all the ide cable from mb to hdd is a 2 device. the one to the cd-rom is a one device.

1.put locked hdd in pc hook up the molex cable(power) not the ide make sure the jumper on the hdd is set to master.
2.boot up pc let it start up all the way.
3.have your email code and start up the unlock program. at this point carfully unplug the cd-rom drives ide cable.
4.plug it in to the locked hdd. and fallow the wizard.
5. when its done shut down the pc. plug the ide cable back into the cd-drive. at this point you can remove the hdd that now has been unlocked. and throw it in you chiped box with a copy of a.i.d to format it. or format it for pc use.............
