HDDunlock.com is currently offering their tool for free (only 1 day left tho) that allows to unlock harddrives (including some Xbox drives) without requiring the HDD-key:

What is a HDD Lock?
All hard disk drives have the possibility to set a hardware password, thus making the drive completely inaccessible unless a correct password is provided. When you set a password on your notebook, the notebook locks the drive as well. XBox gaming consoles and some desktop computers can also lock hard disk drives.
If you forget the original password, there is no way to use the hard drive anymore. HDD Unlock Wizard removes any password and makes the drive useable again, thus saving you time and money.

They are currently offering free unlocks (instead of $9.95 for sub-80gb drives), but there's only 1 day left, so be quick! The Wizard will first check if your drive is compatible with this tool, but it has a pretty long list of compatible drives. I saw the 2 widely used seagate drives (ST310211A and ST310014A) on the list, however I don't see the WD80ED-28xxxx drives.

I got like 30 locked xbox drives, so i can unlock them all or is there a 1 drive limit, sorry for the question, i should have tried first, but I am not at home right now

I noticed in the email that the code is good until June 14. Does this mean I have to use all these codes today? Or was today just the date to get the codes and they can be used whenever?

lol someone needs to steal their code. If it can be done online it can be stolen in most cases

well im trying it out as we speak. it said 10mins and its been 10mins. now it says "Time Left: Soon" :/

they sent me a email which was supposed to have the trial key...And it didnt. I have emailed them and im waiting for response.

Anybody else have this problem??

well i sent it once, didnt come. so i tried again with a alt address and that worked. i checked my other address a min later and that finally showed up. both had 2 different keys. it takes a while. just wait for it or try again with a alternate address.

I had the same problem I registered with an hotmail adress and didn't get the code then a yahoo adress and still didn't get it then I did it with my isp email and I got it then...

I hope this is not a scam to gather email for spaming.

Anyway, I'm trying to unlock now...

I'll post results afterwards.

well i signed up under 4 emails none worked.

So then i tried the for up to 500gig 1 and it came threw.

bleugh Where you put in your email on there web page on the left it says something bout other codes under a card click there and sign up for a different size hd it worked for me.
