Ahem.....I don't think that this is the same image that soupy showed in the begining of this contest.
(This image looks more like what he used for his render.)
I hate to be a shi* stirrer; you guys be the judge. Maybe I'm wrong; the rules said to use
this image
.

...I duplicated the render layer and blurred it, then set it to color burn and lowered the opacity.

No worries, man.
EDIT: maybe it would help if you saw them side by side.
I can see why you would assume something like that though.

very similar styles of background, and soupy has a better looking render, but his sig is so empty. the left side is screaming for something to fill it.

Nice, I love how you added Photocrave in it.
Just realized I forgot to add scanlines.. :\
Anyways, voting starts now I guess. And it will end, sunday.

Cowbell.
I would have liked Soupy's better, but it seems a little empty to the left.

I like both of them.....hmmmm....They're so different. That's what is so cool about art, in general. Everybody has a different perspective.
CowBell
's is great...no doubt. CB; dude; you're almost legendary in my book....what more can I say.
But on the other hand; I really like the tight, clear, sharp look of the render in
Soupy
's.
Decisions.....decisions.....
I gotta go with....with....*aarrrggh!!* I hate this!!!
Ok...ok......
Soupy.
That's my final answer.

cowbell gets my vote.
I don't mind soupys empty space at all, in fact I kind of like it. The selling point for me was Cowbells grain. More "retro" feel. Good work both of you.
