Don't We All Wish

Just something I turned out of PS (I guess you might call it photochopping, but it's not a car so...)
IPB Image

Source image 1 and Source image 2.

Would you be at least (semi)convinced, or am I totally crap at this?

Note:  I started with the 1st image, and was going to place it on a desk. but couldn't find a suitable picture for that.

It's good, except you need to fix the lighting on the PSP so it looks more like the lighting in the picture.

A few more layers and sampling later:

I think this is much better, I even added some wear marks to the buttons on the right.

It's very nice, but I believe slightly skewed wrong (needs to be a litte more bent towards the right...I think...it's difficult to tell with the fingers there). Also, I'd say bend the left side back a little so it looks like it's under his thumb, not on it.

In the original picture, it is over the thumb, but slightly indented into it.  I attempted to recreate that sort of effect on both hands, it kinda worked, but not completley.

Wow, it's even got the Gamespot logo on it!  It must be true!  You on;y did the screen though, I put a whole new PSP in place.  And even scratched it up for authenticity! tongue.gif

I could see some fun to be had with this concept.

Couldn't resist:

I know there are NES emus for PSP, but can you play duck hunt on them?  Imagine playing PSP with a lightgun!

Yeah, but why would I want to do double the work if there's already a scratched-up PSP there? wink.gif

Uhh... No idea.  But there's something wrong with your sig.  It doesn't seem to load completley on my PC right now.  Even if I view it seperatly.  Odd.

Me neither, none of metaldevil's images are showing up.

Probably something wrong with his account on his hosting site.

Must've been routine maintenance. Everything looks normal now.

Nope, no good for me.

How do yuo add wear and get the glare on the screen?

The answer's in your question. wink.gif

Once you have your custom screen positioned properly, change the blend mode to screen.

No, I meant to the screen of his PSP.  Sorry.  And the wear around the buttons, as the original pics don't have wear on the buttons (but the one DOES have glare).

I just used a slightly transparent fractal brush to add the wear around the buttons.  And the glare was achieved through many different PSP shaped layers, sampling from the original, and the one I started with first.  I even ended up copying the screen out, and placing it over the PSP (stretched of course) and cut off the excess bits.

Yeah, I read an articleon how easy it is to fake things with photoshop (this guy "installed" iTunes his PDA) so I thought I'd give it a try.  The only reason I used the other PSP is because I started with that, but couldn't find a suitable desk to put it on, so I just put it over the other PSP, and thought it would be more interesting to see if I could make it blend on better.
