Can I Swap My 1.5 Phillips Dvd Into A 1.1 Xbox?
« Reply #15 on: May 04, 2006, 04:02:00 PM »

I don't know the number, but I've gone through AT LEAST 100 motherboards over the past 2 years and I've never seen an UNMODDED 1.5 motherboard.

I've had a couple people claim they had 1.5's, but when I received them... they had been tampered with (failed mod attempts).

I'm still searching for a stock (never tampered with or refurbished) 1.5 motherboard.

The board I have in that pic is untouched (unless you count the solderless adapter I put on yesterday).  Its not refurb since I bought it new at Best Buy in September of 2004.  It has never had a drop of solder on it as it was in the box untouched until I decided to put the modchip in.  While I guess its possible I'm starting to lean on the idea that MS just decided to screw modding and filled in the holes w/ lacquer on my board and its just a 1.4 w/ filled holes...lol.

end of the day digitard, its not a 1.5, soldering to the bottom d0 doesnt maker it a 1.5, its a choice weather to use top or bottom d0, only there was lacquer in your top hole. When performing solder installs, its generally easier and more common to use the d0 on the bottom which you used.

Ultimate question: is the ground of the LPC connected or not?
