it really takes a lot of observation of a lot of logos to see devices and styles.
to be frank, i think you should start over. usually the font shold be the biggest thing in a logo (mostly). look at a lot of different logos, try to figure out what you want to accomplish, how people will see it, and hardest of all keep it simple.
i have made many many logos, ill have to scrounge to find some, but ill post some examples that work, some that dont, and some that work but break rules.
