I agree it's simple but it's not bad, the only thing I don't like about it is the colors, they don't match well.

Ok what colours do you think I should choose, do you think it needs like a more glassy feel to it?

it looks more like a button than a logo.  When it comes to logo design you should keep it simple.  Nothing looks better than a elegant streamlined logo.

How long have you been working with 3Dsmax? I have been trying to learn but it's alot more difficult than photoshop obviously. I can make alot of stuff by following tutorials but I'm not really learning anything just following steps. There are so many buttons and functions I can't learn any of it. If anyone knows a good way to learn how to use it I would appreciate them posting a link (I was thinking about signing up for a class but I can't find any) Btw the silver/blue looks good but it's the green that just doesnt do it for me. Maybe make the green a dark blue? I think that would look wicked especially when you throw it into 3dsmax.

Your in the same boat as me, I've only used it like 3 times but it's my intended specializm next year (I chose web design and game design) at college so I got to make somthing in it before I go back to start my second year.

I would recommend building a solid foundation with vector graphics before jumping right into maya or 3ds.  Illustrator and flash are a great place to start.  You can gain momentum by hitting lynda learning and completing their basic tutorials (illustrator, flash, maya, 3ds).  There are several other tutorial sites that offer similar packages.

I think that looks good for keeping it simple maybe do a little something with the text? Add a little dropshadow perhaps.

Yeah i use to do freelance webdesign but hated it as a career. Practice makes perfect. Try a vector based program as someone suggested.
