128mb Mobo Problem On A V1.4 Black Screen

I have a v1.4 128mb mobo that has the ram upgrade I stuck a x3 on there and it boot's on/off 2 and then on third boot stay's on and frag;s and just show's a black screen with white line's is there a special upgrade for the software to rujn it or is there another problem? also the controller port led's no longer come on but everything else does ???

Sounds like you could have a dry joint or a bridged pin somewhere. Did you install the chips in the right direction? iI installed correctly it should boot with the x3, and boot stock, there is no need for software upgrades. But you will need to patch the xbe's to use all 128mb.

yeah they are on there the right way and 1 time out of the 3 time's I tried to power it 1 time of them it did boot to the config live screen but the video still had white line's running diagnal I did nt try to play it or keep it on cuase I know it still ws not right and did not want to harm anything if I hold both power and eject to boot to the x3 os flash screen it will go to that without the frag but the video is still all diagnal and ugly.
