Top 5 New Machinimas

Soon enough our beloved Red vs. Blue will come to an end, and thousands of fans will be left in the dark. Fortunatley Rooster Teeth has inspired hundreds of aspiring film makers to make their own machinima series' so all of you machinima fans will still have something to watch. Most of the recently birthed machinimas have been produced using Epic Game's Gears of War, because Halo 3 isn't out yet.The most interesting part about this is that while Red vs Blue (Rooster Teeth's most popular series) is a comedy series, some new machinima series have a serious undertone to them. This post will rank the top 5 new machinimas so all of you will know what's out there post-Red vs Blue.

GEARS OF WAR

5- Fears of War (Comedy: Gears of War)
Fears of War is an alright series, it has been out for quite some time and has only released 2 episodes, both of which seem to be recorded using a video camera (Fairly poor video quality) The humor in it is a little dry and the content (Music used, logo, etc) seems to be unoriginal work, however some enjoy it.

4- Emergence (Serious: Gears of War)
Emergence takes a unique approach at machinima, rather than being a comedy series, it centers the story around a group of soldiers fighting through locusts, and attempting to fins the locust queen and destroy it. The quality is alright, fairly moderate, but not as good as it could be (Youtube might be contributing to this poor quality) Messy Kitty Productions has also made another series called "Mad World" which is a comedy series based in gears of war and is comprised of about 10 episodes.

3- Blue Storm (Comedy: Gears of War)
Blue Storm is a fairly popular Gears of War machinima series based around the adventures and mishaps of a handful of soldiers. They currently have 2 episodes and a preview for their third episode. This series takes a unique approach by introducing a portal in the second episode, which appears to allow teleportation from video game to video game, offering a wide variety of story and plot.

2- Gridlock Chronicles (Comedy: Gears of War)
This series was based on a few skits that Hobobox Studios created in Gears of War, the quality is lacking, but the comedy is widely appreciated.

1- Geared (Comedy: Gears of War)
This series is produced by Darkspire Films and is by far the best out of the others, it combines great comedy with great quality, which creates one great series. The first episode was released just recently, and it seems to be the most promising series yet. It is a comedy series based on the adventures of a handful of soldiers, yet maintains a semi serious undertone, so the series doesn't become immature or just a compilation of random skits and jokes. Darkspire Films has created 100% original content (Music and logos) and prides itself on being the only new machinima series from Gears of War that owns a domain, www.darkspirefilms.com

Well, there you go, agree with me or not, your choice.

digg it
