From my experience, 60 watts have a longer lifespan and are more reliable than 30 watts.

LED "light bulbs" dominate everything else.  Life span, power consumption, purity of light... LEDs have them all.

It's going to be hard to overcome the power of incandescant. I grew up with them and never had an issue with them. LEDs are overpriced but I do like the 'friendly' light they emit. Flourescant lights are horrible and I dislike them, they emit a more 'ominous' (SP?) light and It brings back too many memories of middle school.
