Problems After Ram Upgrade
« on: February 13, 2006, 07:50:00 PM »

Hi,
i tried to do an ram upgrade on my xbox myself and failed, and it caused my xbox to frag. i checked it over and over an could see a problem and then just gave up one the upgrade. So i removed the chips very carefully and the xbox still frags, i checked all the little solder points for each chip and they look ok, a little rough but non are touching that i can see. i really dont know what i could try next, besides maybe using a desolder braid to remove all the solder that is one the points for each chip, but i wasnt too sure if it needed to be there. any help would be great thanks

well if you want to remove them make sure u remove them all, use solder flux and a desoldering braid to do the job, make sure u have no cross links from solder point to solder point, hope u were wearing an anti-static bracelt or something, where did u get the chips from?
