Just curious what you all think. Personally I can't wait since it's one of my favorite shows of all time.

I had purchased the 2 box sets based on word of mouth, I didn't think the show was all that great, seemed like similar jokes slightly rewritten over and over with a slightly different situation.

I know I'll take some flack for this but as far as compared to other animated shows (South Park, Simpsons, and Futurama) Family Guy comes in at the bottom of the barrel easily.  <

Yea it was cancelled after 3 seasons of episodes (all of which you can get on DVD). Now it looks like they're going to be making some new ones!

family guy was originally cancelled due to it being too controversial (which is one thing that made it so great, nothing was held back...see When You Upon A Weinstien)

what bothers me is, will it retain the same edge? or will the writers be forced to tone it down a bit for this run?

id hate to see a bastardized version of such a great show  <

Cartoon Network I think will be showing them, but it'll probably suck like the new Ren & Stimpy did :(  <

The thing is...they aren't funny after you've seen them a thousand times already, the only episode I've been able to laugh at in syndication has bee the one when they're in witness protection.

Some new episodes will be good, but once you've them, it's back to boredom.  A show with thirty episodes shouldn't be in syndication.  <

I highly doubt that it will be a bastardized version of the same so.  If anything itll be more controversial.  Thats the nice thing about adult swim on cartoon network, it is so uncommon for cartoons to be so funny.

The one thing that pissed me off though is that they cancelled Home Movies and replaced it with Family Guy.  ARG!!  Home Movies was the best!!    <

What are you talking about?  A lot of the episodes of Family Guy and Futurama have been edited and altered, there's harsher rules for basic cable than there are for broadcast television.  <

Sure, but i've heard on adult swim cursing. They say anything else southpark does if not more. I say southpark = #1, Family Guy = #2, I think the only reason why I watch futurama is because of Zoydberg or Bender. I draw them at school all the time when im in, in-school suspension  <

It doesn't matter what you've heard, the fact remains Family Guy needed to be toned down for basic cable.  <
