QUOTE (vesebr @ Jan 5 2004, 10:51 PM)
A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis:
The Wife said she was sleeping.
The Cook was cooking breakfast.
The Gardener was picking vegetables.
The Maid was getting the mail.
The Butler was cleaning the closet.

The police instantly arrested the murdered. Who did it and how did they know?

The cook, you dont cook breakfast...or the gardener, gardeners dont pick vegetables...the wife, she couldnt have been sleeping if she called...so many loopholes...

Why can't Joe Balush, who is now living in Canada, be buried in the USA?

cause he's still alive and you don't bury people alive.. it's kinda against the law.

the answer to my original riddle is:

you ask any one of them "What would your friend say is the way to town?"

and then you go the other way.

you saying my answer wouldn't help?  Whatever I still say there are several answers to that though yours is the most clever.

ok my turn guys.

A man comes around to a red hotel in a grey colored car and hands the owner of the hotel $2000.  why?
*this man did not stay in the hotel nor did he owe this man money from an earlier time... and no the owner didn't win the publisher's clearing house.

wow this is a fun thread, not much here thats has to do with comdey but fun none the less.

You can cook breakfast omlet, pancakes, waffles, etc.   Also Gardeners do harvest fruits/veggies from gardens.

Cant be monopoly, the deed cards for working out how much you pay clearly states that for "staying" at hotel on whatever street you pay X amount etc... in the riddle he said the man never stayed at the hotel  ph34r.gif

A black dog walks into the road, he has black eyes also.
The man is driving a black car.
The streert lamps are not working due to the blackout.
There are no other cars or people around due to the blackout. Somehow he calmly avoids the dog.

next one... this is a classic, reworded just a bit though

Mark came home early on Friday to be home with his wife.  To his suprise he came home and found sarah lying dead on the floor surrounded by water and broken glass.  He noticed the window was open and instantly knew how sarah died.  How did sarah die?

What row of numbers comes next?  (Has nothing to do with mathematical equations)

1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221

I did this one like a year ago, it took me so long to figure out.  the answer is...

1113213211

..but I won't spoil the fun of how you get it.
