Dvd Drive Doesn't Work...still (help)

Ok here's the deal...my xbox (with executer 2) stopped playing discs altogether....i cleaned the Dvd drive lens....still didnt work...so i ordered one...it came in...hooked it up....brand new and still didnt work...is there something wrong with my mod chip configuration or something...please help
