Posts like the last 2 are why we will go in WITHOUT U.N. approval.  We can provide proof that Iraq is doing wrong, and critics will just say, "that's just U.S. propaganda" or "you guys planted those bombs".  You guys have no idea what those people are going through, and you just dismissed this girl as some made up story or "we paid her to say that."

You'll listen to and give more time to Saddam, but you don't extend the same courtesy to the U.S.  This is BULL, because you are ready to believe Saddam when he lies all the time (4400+ days w/o complying to U.N. resolution), but you say the U.S. is lying without even checking the facts.

I saw this same interview in the newspaper.

The same thing happened with bin Laden.  People complained about us going into Afganistan to get him because of the people it might hurt.  Then we showed the proof that it was him, and people said we doctored the videos to implicate him.

Its a NO WIN situation for us.  If we show proof, they say we are propaganda machines, if we do nothing, we risk Saddam aiding more terrorists to attack us.  Like i said before, people don't argue that Saddam needs to be taken out, just that they don't like "the bully" doing it.

i dont like bush becuz, well hes an idiot.. and more people voted against than for him...
but it doesnt take an english teacher (which he desperately needs) to know that iraqs not such a happy place. there will always be arguments for and against war.

this seems to have a theme of "go our seperate ways" in the anti war posts here, but it wont work.. im not for war or killing. but it WILL happen. for the same reason anarchy would never work.

for every opinion that the US is evil for going to war, theres another person with an opinion that the US is too important to ignore Iraq.  if you don't live in Iraq, you don't know anything more then what the media tells you, and thats what you have to go on.  Is it exaggerated? possibly. but i guarentee you there's an underlying truth.

Osama bin laden was suspected of an embassy bombing, but nothing really happened.  He then attacked america in terrorist actions, and war begins. Was anyone against it the prosecution of al queda?

In ww2 america continues trade with allied european countries. there's no doubt that part of the reason were relations with britain, but thats not the point.  they couldnt trade with japan because of allied blockades and restrictions, and quite honestly, who wants to drive a ship into hostile waters without any kind of military backing? The US tried to stay passive, staying out of the war. they were bombed. were europeans complaining about the US's involvement then? no? fancy that.

iraq has a high risk profile, and its become fairly odvious they're violating UN restrictions.  the UN wont do anything about it because they claim they have no proof. why do they have no proof? because iraq is not cooperating with testing and searches. if you have nothing to hide, why bother hiding it

does the US have to get bombed before any action is taken?

or assume it's britain, or even france. what then?

any why the hell is this in comedy.

Helium, that was great.

Can anyone remember if anyone was dissing the US during the Gulf War?

Also, the whole thing about war over oil is bullshit. We cannot take the Iraqi oil. That oil belongs to the people of Iraq. We are at war with Hussein's regeime. The US would not be the US if we stole from countries.

I agree with enough of the rest of your post, I just had a couple of questions about these opening statements:

1.  Would Algore have really been a better alternative? Or let me rephrase, have you ever read his book, "Earth In The Balance"? The man is either insane, stupid, or a pathological liar, or some combination of the two.  Everyone knocks Bush's grades...at least he finished grad school with a Harvard MBA, unlike the other "Silver Spoon" political child who flunked out of Law school AND divinity school.
2.  You are aware that our country is a republic still, and not a democracy, right?  That numerical majority is balanced with regional divisions, right?  Otherwise presidential elections would be decided by New York, LA, and a few other major cities.
3. If Bush is an idiot, what does that make the Democrats that he singlehandedly led the Republican party to victory over in the midterm elections, agaisnt historical precedent and conventional wisdom?  Is it really enough that he surrounds himself with brilliant people, has a terrible stage presence, and obvious difficulties with public speaking to infer that the man is stupid?  I know plenty of people with worse grades, worse personalities who are quite intelligent...just as I know plenty of little rich kids with connections who don't amount to anything in their lives...Bottom line: you don't get to president if you're an idiot, historical anomalies like Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford (a vp, to be fair) aside.

The American (head) politicians have been proven to be time and time again, the puppets of powerful lobby groups.
Australia for example has and still is, at economic war with the US on export tariffs to tune of 15 billions dollars a year. The US even went behind our back while we had 2,000+ troops killed fighting in their Vietnam war and stole our wheat exports to Saudi Arabia buy extreme subsidising (selling to the Arabs cheaper than what they paid their US farmers for it)

The US is the only country that puts 30-40% tariffs on imports. And has all but alienated itself from the WTO.

Although I personally believe that an Invasion of IRAQ is a good thing (mostly because of a regime change). If the US can't explain what its going to do with the IRAQI Oil reserves, then the rest of the world will continue to distrust the US motives for this war. The US may not be the Great Satan, but they are most certainly CROOKS when it comes to economic trading.

Which is wrong, how?  Should Americans hobble their productiveness to "help" other, less competent nations?  Please...

i find it amusing how america are now "finally" anti terrorism, i wonder if they feel guilty about the fact america actively allowed fund raising for the IRA at a time britain was being bombed left right and centre. and many thousands of people and soldiers are now dead as a result.

hypocrisy is a wonderful thing, and now the whole world is expected to bend over for bush, the UN is there for a reason and the arrogance of saying "we don't need their permission" is mind blowing. what right does bush have to ignore the UN? none america are a big country but its time to realize your not the only one's on the planet. terrorism is a strange thing that comes in many forms, could refusing to listen to world sanctions as regards to green house gases and omissions be classed as an act of terrorism? many suffer for the plight of 1 set of people, one of your politicians actually said on british
tv the ira were justified and therefor not terrorists that was from your own government.. to that i say fuck you!

is the american philosophy actually "you scratch my back ill destroy yours"
don't support the war on iraq? you must be a hippie then with a hackysack and a big bag of weed.... sick and tired of ill informed opinions and the lack of acceptance on america's part. "join us for we own you"

i also find it amusing america have documented and there is written proof of this that anyone supporting them can have a cut of the oil, this was in a statement sent to european leaders... wonder where bush's priorities are? maybe in daddies book of "please dad i want your respect"

its time america grew up and listened to other people's opinions for a change

Okay thats about enough. Waz, you have got some FUCKED UP views of the world. Its bad enough this is being posted in a comedy forum, but now your hitting me with greenhouse gases and how the US raises funds for the IRA.
Man if your going to step up to the plate, first of all get your fucking facts straight, then try to stay on topic. Oh and when the US secretly develops a aluminum foil hat to sheild only Americans from harmful radiation and only distributes it to us , stealing, war loving americans, im sure well hear from you again.
