Another "Bush-hater".  Notice his reasons have nothing to do with why Saddam should be left alone, just that America shouldn't be allowed to strike him. There is a difference.

Also, filled with a bunch of mindless rhetoric:

quote:
How will Mr Bush know when he's wiped out all terrorists? When every single terrorist is dead? But then a terrorist is only a terrorist
once he's committed an act of terror. What about would-be terrorists?
These are the ones you really want to eliminate, since most of the known terrorists, being suicide bombers, have already eliminated themselves.
/quote

Why don't you just ask the same stupid question like "Can God create a rock HE CAN'T lift?"

Anti-war people are more pissed off that America(President Bush) is taking Saddam out, than that he is actually being taken out.  Its either the "America is a Bully" excuse or the, "Somehow, magically, Iraqi oil will find its way to Bush's bank account" Bullshit.

When he gives money to people trying to kill you or he tries to assinate you, then you can talk to me about how wrong we are for wanting him out.

We DON'T hate Iraq, and don't want to destroy it or its people.  We just can't let someone who wants to kill us at the first chance he get, stay in a powerful position.

Also, he complain about
quote:
Mr Bush's long-term aim is to make the world a safer place by eliminating 'rogue states' and 'terrorism'. It's such a clever long-term aim because how can you ever know when you've achieved it?
/quote:

Using that mindless thought pattern. we should also stop persuing thieves and rapest because we will never get rid of all of them.

I'm sorry because I'm usually very friendly in this board, but "THIS GUY IS A COMPLETE IDIOT!!  This is definately someone who has mastered the art of speach, and at the same time, be completely void of thought or reason."

Xandy, I think you should simplify your message, they still don't seem to get it. wink.gif

Or is it true that all Americans by now have been brainwashed by there own propagandamachine? It sure seems that way.

But dear fellow earthlings the world isn't as black or white as George B. want's you to believe. If I'm not pro war, that doesn't mean I'm your enemy...

And believe me, war is not the way to achieve peace, and the last thing to do, to defend yourself against terrorism.
Remember that although you can drop laserguided precision bombs, to other people the only way to fight back is to sacrifice themselves in a suicide attack.
And those people do believe as much as you do, that they're doing the right thing.

I did sincerely not write this to offend anyone, I only hope that by reading different opinions everyone can enlarge there view of reference.

Everyone has the right to their opinion, and I'm fine with that.  Hell, that's the exact freedom the American soldiers have fought wars for.  But you'll also notice there are no people from Iraq on the message board.  Thats because they would be killed for even participating in this conversation.

There are some good debaters on this subject, but the guy who started this thread is not one of them.  I could have a better debate with 50 monkeys using typewriters. tongue.gif

We just need to drop this thread because when you start with nonsense, that all that will come out, is more nonsense.

I, for one, am sick and tired of people that do not approve of the war being called "Anti American". I am an American, one who was affected by 9/11, and I feel that bombing Iraq is wrong.

I am not some anti-war hippie. Until recently (9/11) I LOVED chaos (im not proud to admit that)....things that caught media attention and wrapped up the airwaves were neat to me; that is reserved mainly for Blizzard coverages as of late. I am also not some proud American Flag Waving Patriot. I am an intelligent person who has decided to make up my mind for myself, and that is QUITE American. See we have a freedom of speech and a freedom to think and believe what we want.

No matter what scale, it has been accepted to poke fun at the president. Lately that is dismissed. Call it censorship, or propaganda, I dont like it.

I dont have all the facts about Iraq. I dont have all the facts about N. Korea. But i do know, that i think that violence is not the solution for, well, ANYTHING. It seems to me, that sometimes people fall down to the basic trends of history. Fight, Flee or Die. Why can't people evolve past that? There MUST be another way. Finding another way would be hard. And it seems to me that people like to behave like Neanderthals and beat each other when they have a disagreement (on a macro and minor scale).

So take the easy route. Beat people up. Kill people. Wipe out a civilization. Then what? Ever watch a Soap Opera? It never ends. It is always switching up and noone can ever just relax and enjoy life. That would be boring.

Those of the more basic mindset may get offended, but dammit, My opinion is AMERICAN, any way you f*ing slice it. It's about freedom to make my own damn decisions.

On the topic, last weekedn I read in a journal an open letter from a 17 y old Iraqi girl who changed my opinion and my outlook on the matter. She was essentialy saying
" I acknoledge that the US might have a hidden agenda concerning Irak's oil reserves, but it doesn't matter, we will take any alternative to Hussein's regime. We want the US troops over here. To the anti-war protestant: where were you when S.Hussein executed hundreds of his people? What solutions can you offer to quickly improve our situation?"

Nuff said.. It's too easy to speak your mind when you have your belly full and no gun to your head...

QUOTE
Equalling having people disagree with you with being "silenced" or otherwised martyred for having opinions that are "radical" (Check)

I didnt say I was silenced. The president or his ideas are open to criticism and humor just as they always were. It seems that people think this is treading on hallowed ground and treat the prez with reverence. He is not a holy figure, not by any stretch.

QUOTE
Statement of ignorance about situation as if that was not detrimental to understanding it (Check)

Just cuz i said I dont have all the facts? you dont have all the facts, the president doesnt have all the facts. no one can. Im just willing to admit it. I have enough facts to make up my own opinion, as do you.

AND THE BIG POINT:
QUOTE
Empty declaration of American citizenship as if such a statement meant anything without respect for the country and one's obligations to it (Check)

So a differing opinion is a lack of respect? OK. Tell Hitler I said hi. He didnt like differing opinions either. I have great respect for our country and the things we can do. When we excell at something, WE REALLY EXCELL. In the field I am in, the US is the best at what we do, and i LOVE it. We manufacture the best stuff. Not the Germans, not the Japanese, US. It's something im damn proud of. And if it is my obligation to blindly respect and agree with everything the country does as a whole, then you are right.

Would I want to be a reporter or a soldier over seas now? HELL NO. I wouldnt even want to be a traveler. I respect every individual who is overseas protecting our freedom, and if i was called, i would go. But that doesnt mean I have to agree.

I respect your own opinions, the only reason I reposted is because you attacked against my argument, implying an "Anti American" slur. Your opinions are valid, as they are opinions. But my differing opinions does not make me less of a person or an "American". Besides WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE? What have you done?

Well congratulations the propaganda machine is working for you.

May I ad that saddam used nerve gass provided by the US to kill his own people.
Cause let's not forget that in the passed Sadam was the US's biggest buddie in the dirty war against Iran.
And that demonstrates perfectly the US's past and present politic: If you're our enemies enemy, then you're our friend, if not you're an enemy also.
