No that's not ignorant...u know when asked what their plans are as a career, 50% of high school graduates say they want to be a teacher. It's obviously not that high in the real world, but when people have nothing else to go into they become a teacher. The reason they get underpaid is because there are so many of them out there, and too many of them can't even do their job. They should have known when they started college they the pay wouldn't be good, and should've found another career. We're one of the dumbest first world nations out there, and it's because we're being taught by people that got Cs throughout high school and have decided to pass down their dumbness to another generation..........and no, the reason they won't quit is because they have no where else to turn. Of the four teachers i have now, 1 has a passion for it. College professors are a different story, I have respect for them, but not for the majority of teachers I've seen in my lifetime.
