Bit of advice. . . get a TSi.

The last thing you need is a Front Wheel Drive automatic (like I have). sad.gif
You want All Wheel Drive, a maual tranny and turbo. smile.gif
. . . and be sure to check out the ECU if you're buying a 1st gen DSM because they are known for having blown capacitors (sounds familiar). smile.gif

A few capacitors from ebay and a Radio Shack soldering iron really work wonders on the ECU. beerchug.gif

Automatic and non-tsi?  Not worth it (especially considering the fact that they are very high maintenance vehicles in general) if you aren't getting the manual and the TSI IMHO then you might as well buy a totally different vehicle.  An automatic ESI is for the blonde ditz who wants something that looks sporty.

why would anyone buy a non TSi Talon..... :shakes head:

the TSi vs any other version of the Talon is like a Respectable tuner car vs Rice-a-roni

DONT BE A POSER

... BUY A TSi

VERY HIGH MAINTENANCE, hence the reason why I didn't recommend anything but a TSI as they are the only ones that will give the performance to make it even close to worth owning the car.

Definitely a high maintenance car. A buddy of mine recently received a TSi from his aunt for free (she didn't want to spend any more money on it) with around 100,000 miles on it. Luckily, this buddy has been going through automotive school for years and rebuilt the engine and ended up spending a little over a grand to get the car going again. The synchros are still all screwed up in the trans for second gear, but it's still driveable (as long as you double clutch when shifting). I hear this is very common for the TSi's.

A you know what's really common? I notice that alot of skaters like myself are after Talons. Im not anymore but  around Detroit, Eastpointe, and closer to the suburban areas, alot of skaters was after Talons. I dont know why though. I guess it was like a lil fad goin' on.

A DSM huh? I hope you're either a: a mechanic, or b: a sadomasochist because Talon's and Eclipse's are probably the worst cars as far as mechanical reliability goes.
