Best Way To Paint Parts?
« on: November 23, 2007, 10:48:00 PM »

So I am looking to spray paint a few metal parts, for my atv [not car i know but its close]. Now I am having some trouble deciding which way I should go with? I was just gonna pick up two cans of spray paint and spray away, but I thought, this is my quad I want it to look good, not shitty. So there are basically two other options I am thinking of. Ether a electric spray gun, a spray gun with compressor, or a power coating sprayer? Which one would come out the best?

If you guys, compressor and spray gun, any tips on some good brands and min, requirements? Ebay links?

Here are links to the others I am thinking, one is an electric sprayer, that I see used on houses, can this be applied to metal parts, with the right paint?

COMPRESSOR-

POWDER COATER-

Which one would give me the best overall finish? Keep in mind the only down side to power coating is , I need to bake all the parts in the oven, so space is limited.

Please help.

Thanks for the future help.

Keep in mind, I wanna go cheap, and keep everything on ebay.

like stated unless your going to be doing alot the investment isnt worth it.

if its a few small parts and your are confident with painting then use cans. easy to get a good finish.

either that or take them to a bodyshop to get them painted, would be cheaper than buying all the stuff.
