AND, I have remote start on my 99 F-150.  It's freaking great when it's cold out.

There are tricks to making install easier, too.

Maybe ubernewb can offer up some gems smile.gif

yeah, plenty of tricks... biggest things that helps makes things go faster is a good prep. find all the wires in the car first, then seperate the alarm's wires into groups based on where they are in the car. for grounds, always go to the kick panel metal.. scrape the paint away and use a new screw. never rely on a ground that's already there, as corrosion occurs naturally with age. bad power/ground connection on a remote start can mean that the car might just decide to start on it's own.. and that's generally a bad idea.

unfortunately, there are a lot of things i can't just tell you about. best thing i can do in this situation would be to direct you to bulldog security. they make a whole line of self-install security/remote start products and they have a very good website set up to help you put them in. take a look at their site and just apply the basic concepts to your system. can't remember the exact name of the site, but it should be easily found by google

as for the cars themselves, i can definately lend a hand with info on them.. wink.gif

warning.. these pics are a little big, but they have to be in order to be legible.

that should get you started.. just make sure you test things before you just start tying in wires. that's the easiest way to end up with problems..

actually, very little is under the hood.. most of it is under the dash itself. the nice thing about those sheets is that it tells you where to look.. ignition harness means just that, the harness that comes out of the ignition (in the steering column)
