Older corvetts are definitly straight line monsters but over the last decade or so the vette has been becoming more and more of a true all-round competitor.

My father had an 04 Z06... The weight balance was perfect and it cornered better than any other car I'd ever driven... and I've driven my share of well handling cars.  smile.gif

I agree with twisted the old Corvettes arent for the bends but keep in mind a 07 corvette zo6 will go around the Nurburgring in 7 minutes 43 seconds, tell me it doesn't go around corners well. Thats faster then a Pagani Zonda Around the Nurburgring aswell as a good dozen more super cars so yea this new Corvettes gonna be rediculous.

not saying that it isn't up with the super cars.. shit, at that price it might as well be a super car. my point is that i would rather spend less money on a car that was just as quick, while still maintaining some form of functionality. for that matter, i wouldn't buy an exotic super car either..

taking a couple friends to the movies in my corvette? not without a couple trips.. going grocery shopping in my corvette? not if i like to eat more than a few bags of ramen..

ok i agree that you can do that no doubt about it you can do some sick stuff if you know what your doing, but most people who buy a $100K+ car don't car to do it themselfs. but thats where they lose. And i don't suggest putting 50 grand in performance mods into some grocery getter or car designed to move people. four doors would be nice though but the line can be pushed. Not a fan of the "pimped out" 80's civic wagons.

haha.. actually, i was thinking something more along the lines of an sti or evo. with a slightly bigger turbo and better flowing intake/exhaust system those things can be lethal (not that they aren't already) .. room for five adults and groceries, and still able to peel your skin off? now that's a car.. helluva lot better in snow. should tell ya the story of how i witnessed first hand how much vette's hate snow.. lol

as for civics.. no thanks. sure, they can be pretty damn fast, but it requires a shitload of work and even more money.. not to mention that in the end it's still only fwd.. on a nice road course, i'd take awd any day.

but funny coincidence.. around my old place in bellingham, there's an old civic wagon (wanna say it's an 86?) with a turbo'd d series.. thing used to make me laugh myself retarded when it would drive by my work and i'd hear the bov.

WTF was someone doing driving a RWD sports car in the snow?

you buy a Vette (or any other 2 seater) as a SECOND car... no one on the planet should consider it as their primary vehicle unless they're single, friendless and live in a moderate climate year-round.

I'm looking for a RWD sports car myself, a 350Z is no better in the snow or carrying people then a vette is, but I also don't have delusions that it should be those things either... that's what my pickup is for.

o yea 06 sti is something else i drove one last year and wow a piece of heaven couldn't imagine one with a turbo and exhaust swap.
And yea if you drive a vette in the snow you might aswell kill your self before u go out cause that way you'll save the car.
