Removing My Dash

I'm installing a new CD player/radio in my car, and I need to figure out how my dash is removed.  It is outsmarting me.


I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon by the way.

Pretty sure the dash trim/bezel around the stereo just pops off, then the deck is held in place with 4 screws.  Just give it a good pull, if you hear cracking sounds, then I am incorrect.  laugh.gif

I found two screws hidden behind the AC contol knobs. (three screw holes, two screws. I guess Im a screwloose tongue.gif .)

But I don't know if those screws are part of whats holding the dash on.

Who cares, take them out anyway. Might as well explore. From my experiece removing a deck is as simple as insterting those two funky looking metal pieces on the sides and pulling out.
