The only reason the Skyline beat American Mussel is b/c its got all wheel drive, where as the hotrods probably only have rear wheel drive. The Skyline would humiliate my Dodge or Jeep on a track with curves, ¼ mile would be different.

And the Dodge Stealth and Mitsubishi 3000GT are the same damn thing with different badges. Wife and I had a 3000GT for awhile. It was all right, but didn’t thrill me. Traded it in for a Lexus that didn’t three me either (as an LS400). But you don’t wanta know what happened to that poor car…

Youre actually foolish enough to this that your Jeep would keep up with a 300hp AWD sports car in a straight line?     You're kidding..... right?

No I'm not, but it would be a fun race never the less. The Jeep as it sits would probably get its ass whopped. It would do well until the Skylines turbos spooled up than it would be all over. If I wanted to spend the time and money installing a supercharger, punching it out to a 5.0L and putting in light weight pistons and new cams, than lowering it, than ya, I think it would holds it own. With that it would probably be putting around 420 HP to its wheels wheels. But lowering a Jeep is just, WRONG.

I bet the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee would give the Skyline a run for its money though. That thing is nothing but a street queen made to go fast and eat things at traffic lights. It is pushing 420HP to the wheels from the factory, and with some mods it could be doing more. The P2W is about right and the Jeep for all intensive purposes is all wheel drive.

This thread has hereby voided any valid points RMS2001 will ever make.  Your opinion is now null and void.  Have a good day.

Just making sure.  You have made some pretty ignorant statements regarding japanese imports here, so I was just making sure that you had at least some knowlege about the cars.   You seem to be fairly familiar with domestic 4x4 vehicles but beyond that all of your statements are blatent domestic fanboy statements, with little factual basis.  The fact of the matter is that Imports and Domestic all have their good points and bad points, it all depends on what you are looking for.  @Aftertaste, if it isn't twin turbo then it isn't a GT-R. The regular skyline comes with an RB25E engine, the single turbo rear-wheel drive GT-S has the RB25DET and the GTS has the twin turbo RB26DETT engine.

It looks like the last owner swapped the twin turbos for a single Greddy T88 turbo.

Ah, okay.  Should've mentioned that.  I agree with Granulated though, that is a hell of alot of boost that that sucker pushes.  You probably get whiplash when it fires up and your car has a hell of alot more than 300HP if it has one of those.

I probably have. That doesn’t change the fact I think there worthless. Japanese imports have their place, your right. I've owned them in the past, and still have one, an 04 Toyota Tundra. Its more of a work truck I take out and beat up on every day than any thing else. But little fart piped four bangers don't have any place, all they do is piss people off.

Do you have any idea how dumb they really look? The ones with those big ass fins in the back that are like four feet off the car. It doesn’t do shit for you and its just there looks. Than people put unpainted body kits on these cars. You can afford the body kit, but can't afford to paint it? Come on. People lower them so much they drag when coming out of the drive way, haven for bid they should encounter a speed bump, damn thing mite get high centered.

I don’t mind Japanese imports in general. If people didn’t molest them and try to turn them into some thing they aren’t, I’d be okay with it. Its just dumb when highschool kids come along, slaps a NOS sticker in his back window, puts a coffee can on his exhaust pipe, puts some ungodly huge rims on his car, and thinks his car is the fastest thing on the street.

@rms2001, No arguments there.  That is the true definition of a ricer.  However lumping a 300+HP TT straight six in with that group, just because it happens to be a Japanese import, seems rediculous.  The car that he showed us (as far as the body is concerned) is completely stock.  That just happens to be the natural look of the GTR, which I think looks really nice.  All I'm trying to say is that you can't put the Skyline GT-R into the same category as a ricer because the Skyline is a true sports car whereas the ricers are just wannabes.  As mentioned above there are almost as many domestic "ricers" out there.  I don't know about where you live but riced out Dodge Neons and Pontiac Sunfires are a dime a dozen in the areas that I have lived in.  Both of these cars are commonly given the lame ass wings, fart cannon exhausts and body kits without doing anything to the performance and so they are just as guilty as the riced out Hondas and Acuras.

^^^^^^^^^^^EXACTLY^^^^^^^^

At the same time, people who hate a car just because it's a Honda are idiots.

Are there fast civics out there?  Oh, yeah, there are.  Find the fastest honda times...some of them run 10 and 11 second quarter miles, ALL ENGINE.

There's also the fair share of wannabes...the guys that watch fast and the furious and get green window tint and an LED exhaust tip and cut their springs and think their car is the shit.

Fanboy-ism and make-hate are frustrating and kinda piss me off.   There are impressive Hyundai's and Kia's out there, even...you can't lump everything together.

Look, it all boils down to fast being fast. Whether it's a 7.3L V8 or a 1.8L I4 with turbos and nitrous. I don't care. I want a car to go fast and a truck to be able to go off road. I have no brand loyalty in those manners. I merely want something that is a capable vehicle in whatever manner it's supposed to be.

And to think that only an Import can be the victim of stupid kids whom think a spoiler, shift knob, and things that glow make a car cool. There's plenty of Neons, Foci, Escorts, etc. Basically anything the wrong type of high school kid can get ahold of, is subject to being turned into a rolling joke.

HAHA.  Tempo GT-R.

I created a thread on a car forum called "Granulated's fantastic gallery of ridiculous vehicles".  It's full of shit like that...everyone submits their own pictures...it's hilarious.
