Even though Hyundai is supposed to have crazy long-term warranties on them I would look and see if it is transferrable.  I still don't trust them given their shady history.  The price is good and they are great cars when they run but you could easily end up with one that spends more time in the shop than on the road.

In the past years Hyundai has become a very reliable vehicle. I have no idea what that car books, for, but it doesnt seem an unreasonable price for it.

So would you say that it isn't worth paying extra to get a Honda/Acura versus the Hyundai?  Is Mitsubishi still making their engines?

Im pretty sure JD Powers put Hyundai in front of Honda this year. Also in front of Toyota. They did get beat out by Lexus and Nissan IIRC. But they were right at the top of the list with all the bullet proof rides. I know several people with 95+ Hyundais and they have seemed incredibly durable. My Landlords have had 3 in the past 4 years that have all been very solid. Elantra now has 190k on it. No real issues aside from dents. The Tibby got totaled and was replaced with a Santa Fe that I dont particularly care for, but it seems to be a decent ride.

Interesting.  I always like the Tiburon for styling but given Hyundai's history and the fact that they used Mitsubishi innards for a number of years put me off of them.

Funny, im saving for pretty much the same car, (but without the ugly headlights).

Id look for something with lower mileage to be honest though.

a 98 model with the nicer front headlights and a lower mileage would be about the same cost.
