Prepare for the flames.  muhaha.gif   There are several CRX owners, don't know how many who would admit to putting a ricer kit on their CRXs though.

You just said you have a body kit. So take the money for the new body kit and do some engine work. A nice head. A turbo. Maybe some suspension work. Any of those is far cooler than a body kit. I swear to god, as soon as I get my Mercedes I'm going out of my way to humiliate kits in Civics, CRXs, Neons, and any other kitted 4 cylinder.

Actually it'd be a 77 SEL 6.9. Thats a 6.9L V8. How can you not want one of those?

I have an 1987 honda crx si bone stock and not riced. I wanted to add a turbo but i will save up for a new engine. Maybe an integra zc engine or a b16b or whatever fits. after that i will save for a turbo kit and have intake exaust and add a stage 1 clutch. Oh the plans i have biggrin.gif

At least you have a 2nd gen, because if you riced up a 1st genner like mine i would kill myself(A figure of speech for the sarcastic impaired)

At least you are putting it into the engine, even though I wouldn't go that far on a crx(actually any 4 banger).

actually man if done right any modified 4 banger could take on an 8 cylinder, it all depends how far u take it, but for some reason it gives me pleasure for a 4 banger to take on a 8 cylinder

True but by the time you do the economics, it just doesn't add up.  You are going to have to spend about two to three times as much as a person who buys a V-8 (A '95 Z-28 Camaro with a 6 speed manual can easily be had in good condition for $7-$8K).

Mine was $3800 w/ SS rims, very decent tires, new engine with 8k on it @ the time,  Lunati cam, planed and decked heads, accell igntion, B&M short shift. Now with a few more grand over the winter Im hoping for a 500 hp daily driver.

Yeah, but you need to realize that your Camaro was a STEAL at that price.  As you well know I have shopped around for Z-28s (in two different states now) and the only ones that I can find in good shape run $7-$8K and it seems to be pretty true around the country.  If you really hunt around in some areas you can find them in good shape for $5-$6K but it all depends on the market.  As for the 500HP daily driver, man I sure hope you have tons of money set aside for gas.

Im getting 8 mpg on on my ill tuned 350hp at the moment. I expect a PROPERLY setup 500 hp car wont be that much worse. Im almost considering a 01 or 02 V6 with 5 speed and Ttops as a daily driver and winter ride.

Why not just get a cheap little honda and call it good?  I dunno, with you having a Z-28 and talking about a mercedes it just doesn't seem to make sense to get anything else but a little gas miser at this point.  Much easier on gas and a hell of alot better for winter driving (front wheel drive versus rear).

The Mercedes is still up in the air. If I get that I may sell the Z28 and just find a winter ride. I want one 500hpish car. And one Daily Driver. That in no way means it needs to be boring. A v6 RWD car may be fine. Maybe a Miata with hardtop. I have no idea. It will all get worked out over the winter.
