Mine is significantly less than most since I don't believe in making payments.

Age: 27
State: ID
Car: 1988 RX-7 GXL
No tickets currently on record
Price of Insurance with Liability only+tow package: $143USD every 6 months.

As mentioned above, age makes a huge difference in your premium.  My insurance dropped off $70 every six months after I turned 25.  That and the fact that I own my vehicle outright and only have Liability on there.  I am spoiled though since I have an insurance company that is reserved for Federal Government Employees and their families.  So, I get better rates than most and if the actual cost of running the insurance is less than the yearly estimate you get a small refund check at the end of the year.  How many insurance companies do that?  wink.gif

Thats cause us americans get raped on insurance since its illegal to drive without it (probably the same in canada but for some reason you guys get cheap insurance).

Yeah my insurance got cut in half when i turned 21.

To the topic starter i doubt you insurance will be 200 a month unless your payin full coverage. I cant see i going that high. What cars our you thinking about getting that could atleast help us tell you abit.

Here is omsthing else to piss everyone off, when i first started paying insurance my girlfriend at the time did aswell. Our cars were very comparible and the only differece is she got a good student discount. Now her insurance was $75/mo and mine was $140/mo. Just shows how much more a guy pays than a girl.

It's actually not an America thing. It's a state thing. Different states have different requirements. I'm pretty sure NH doesn't require any form of insurance. Youd be a moron not to have it though.

At 16 I was paying 800/year for a brand new Honda Civic. An old aquaintance of mine, who happens to be female was paying 40(yes forty) dollars a year on a 1 year old truck......

I really would like to see where these studies are done.  Can't tell you how many near misses I have had with a female driving the other car.  No where near as many close calls with male drivers.

Girls are more air-headded but guys take a TON more risks.  I had one ticket when I was 16 and paid for probation so it never went on my record.  But I still did a lot more risky shit, like hitting construction barriers on purpose, a lot of spur-of-the-moment racing, drinking and driving.
My best buddies in high school had a combined 10 speeding tickets and 7 accidents in 2 years.  They paid a hella lot for insurance.  One even was dropped and had to go with a super high risk carrier.

The point:  guys are probably better drivers but are way more aggressive, while most girls drive slower but are busy doing hair, makeup and talking.

Oh i see.... yeah you should get it anyway, but here in MD they can charge whatever you want cause if you get pulled over they check for it.

Yeah thats probably about it. So many times iv known a girl in been in a car with a girl who got in and accident that i was just like wow how the hell did you manage to hit them? They rear end people ALOT but its not that bad, where as a guy will do things stupid on purpose and if they get in an accident it usually more than a minor scratch on their bumber and it was their fault. Plus guys drive more like on dates its usuallt they guy driving.

Not sure what kind of car im GOING to get.
I want an older mustang 95-99 but who doesnt?
Thats probably unrealistic
I mainly want a 2dr coupe that looks good but isnt a 4cyl preferbly(sp) a v8 but thats probably unlikely as well.
I think im going to have full coverage but I'm not sure.
I dont remember what the diff. components are of the insur. rate are could someone post them? I know damage liability to their car, you car and dont remember much else.
thanks

Basicly i know you can get liablity which will cover anything haaping to another person, full coverage with will cover anyhting happening to them and you. Or liability + Medical or what ever they call if which will cover anything that happens to another person and and medical treatment to you but not you car.

EDIT: Do you have a price range? Mustangs from around 95 arent to pricey if you can find a good deal.

Right now i got about $600  sad.gif , and i gotta pay like half my drivers about $250, but I should be getting part time job soon. Im hoping to have atleast $2500 by the summer. I also have $2000 for college i guess, but i could always borrow that if im a little short.

I think ill probably get all that for my insurance. I know my family have some "blanket" that covers up to $1MIL , i think it covers medical shit for the other person but im not sure.
