Im not much for body kit either, if you dont linke the way a car looks then buy a different car. If you like them then go for it you not alone. Anyway a paint job will be very expensive, i was looking into them recently to get my 3000GT painted something other than black (i dont want 2 balck cars) and if you take it to any decent shop it will run anywhere from 1,500-5000 dollars for a plain paint job. Also thats it cost less if your getting it painted a dark color over top of a light color. Now keep in mid that includes them do all the work like sanding. You can go to places like MAACO and they do it for like $500 but everyone seems to have a horror story about them.

Ive heard a really good thing to do is call you local high schools career and tech center and they will do it for free provided you buy the paint. I work with someone who did this and he said just remeber to buy some pizzas or something for the student so they take extra care of your car. His car does look fine if you ask me, but thats no inducation of how long it will last.

I concur about the body kit.  They just make you look like another Fast and the Furious wannabe.  Not saying that there aren't some decent body kits out there or that they don't look good on some cars, but they simply aren't practical and they are damn expensive.  Keep in mind that the first dip in the road that you hit wrong with a body kit is gonna crack the thing.  Can't tell you how many cracked/shattered front-end spoilers that I have seen from simple things such as that.  As far as the mustang goes, I would go for one a year or two older and get the GT with the 4.6L V8.  Those things are lethal beasts with just a little work.  IMHO a Mustang or a Camero without a V8 isn't worth the purchase, but I guess that is just me.

Advising a 16 YO to buy a Mustang GT as a first car isn't the best idea. It's gonna be worse on gas, cost far more to insure, and worst case scenario he kills himself. No offense, but I know I would have killed myself in a sports car when I was 16.

an auto v8 mustang can be driven just like a 4 banger civic, if he decides to floor it and hits a wall that is his falt, if you have any sense you will be fine. im now 17 and am driving a mach no problem,i can drive it just like a civic. You may say its not as safe as a v6 mustang but it has better suspension and  better brakes. so if driven like a normal car i think it is even safer.

You cant make a Civic oversteer so I disagree. There's a reason that the insurance on a Mustang GT will be more then that on a similarly priced Civic/Corolla/Focus. It's because Mustang GTs are more commonly in accidents. A mistake in a powerful car is amplified. The gas in my Camaro is touchy. On wet roads I will get the rear end sliding on 1 out of turns without trying. Normal everyday acceleration that would never in a million years provoke tire spin in my truck or many other vehicles.

Given the choice between red and that grey I prefer the grey. I've got an aversion to red.

Ive owned 4 red vehicles which is downright sickening. I know Ford has a really cool burnt orange that the Mustangs came in in certain years. But that grey one is pretty sweet too. Itll probably hide dirt pretty well too. My Camaro shows dust. It's impossible to keep a black car clear I guess.

You and me both.  I mean, if it is a great car in all other respects, then I will buy a red car, but if I have a choice I avoid it like the plague.
