Whats this called, i know you need a special sterio, but i don't know the name, does anyone here? What it does is lets me plug, lets say a ipod, into my sterio, and i can listen to the songs. Not a FM transmitter.

Yeah AUX input, you can find them on most any aftermarket radio (some come from the factory with them, the one in my uncles truck did) but check just to make sure. I know Pioneer makes a pretty good radio with AUX input for about 100-200 bucks, if memory serves.

My Pioneer DEH-P6400 does everything I want it to, plus has aux inputs!

I picked it up from a pawnshop for $94, sold my old JVC for 50...awesome.

Almost any decent head unit will have an Aux input -- or will have an adapter allowing line-in.

For example, my Pioneer does not have RCA connectors on the back for a direct line-in, but it has an "IP-Bus" port, and I connect an IP-bus to RCA adapter.  Some other head units have a CD-changer which can be adapted to a line-in with a custom cable.

If you're shopping for a new radio, may as well look into the ones with a dedicated iPod connector, so you can stash your iPod in the glove compartment, and still change tracks, playlists, etc. from the head unit remote, and get a text display on the front...

Yall seen this Pioneer DEH-P7200

I will have to reinstall the whole sterio wouldn't I? That will be a bitch, the odds of me just changing the faceplate are 0-100000 right?

no, you're not gonna be able to just swap the faceplate.. you're gonna have to yank the radio and change the wiring..

if you replacing a pioneer with another pioneer you should be able to use the same wireing harness, i swapped my old sony for a new sony in literally under a minute (i did it in best buys parking lot right after buiying the new one, lol)
