Car Updates And Such
« on: October 16, 2005, 08:28:00 PM »

Well I havent been giving everyone my car updates so I figured I'd outline all the crap Ive done over the past month or so. If you dont care, dont read wink.gif

1. Full Magna-Flow Catback exhaust on the Camaro. Needs to be adjusted a bit as the tips arent quite hanging perfectly even. But it sounds good and went in pretty easy.

2. My JVC HU in the Camaro. Has the Bose stereo system. Which means that eash speaker is individually amped. So you cant just buy a wiring harness and go. You need to bring the signal way down so you dont blow the speakers as they expect low level inputs. Anyway, this guy I used to help with his MX6 via AIM (He got my AIM from MX6.com) bought a camaro like mine, and wrecked it. He'd bought this 100 buck electronic device that brings the signal down and he sent it to me for free. So I got that all working. CD player in my car rules. Though the mounting kit is kind of cheesy.

3. Sold the original Probe. sad.gif
4 Years ago I bought it. And it's been my favorite car ever. The original KLZE engine I had went in it. Needed a lot of work, but was still my baby. The Z28 is a nice upgrade. And this one wasnt even as nice as the 2 Probe I bought and modded much more heavily. But still the sentimental value was way high. Sold it Saturday to a 16 YO kid. I regret it. Kinda like that upgrading gf thing I did 6 months ago that Ive regretted ever since. (Nother story for another day)

4. Broke my truck
Tore a mounting tab on my tranny off. Took part of the tranny case with it. Leaks fluid like a siv now. Sucks

5. Bought another truck. Parts truck. Same year, engine, drivetrain, etc. Was in an accident and broke it's frame. I bought it for the tranny as the parts truck was cheaper then even a salvage yard transmission. Other things Im taking from it

A. AC condensor as mine is seized
B. Tires; they look brand new
C. Seats, in WAY better shape then mine
D. Tailgate, different color but mines rusty as shit. Ill keep it til mine fully rust through and then add another non matching body piece to my mess.

Im a firm believer that a truck is supposed to be dented, banged up, bruised, and dirty. A rusty tailgate can be replaced with a diff color peice and it will look like the truck has been given hell!

I love trucks, big ones. I cant wait till I can find a F150 extended cab with 5 speed trann, all I can find are the auto's and non extended cab's.

Trust me, the truck has plenty of dents, on miscolered fender and the front end is sort of patched together after my accident. I got the other truck here this eve. A guy I work with has a fully enclosed triler for his race car. Somethings definately binding in the passnger front end of the new truck. Not sure what, but it is where it got hit. It's fairly irrelevant as I only need the tranny and other assorted parts.

While your replacing parts anyway, you should lift the rear end of the hood where it mounts to the body about 2 inches, that will reduce a lot of heat, or so Ive been told by people who have done this. It acts like a cowl induciton hood, only free-er.

Some Pics
Here's my truck
Notice the small dents here and there, the non matching fender, and the bumper.

The new truck
Some front end damage. Broken frame and the front wheel binds up for some reason.

Those stains are probably from moisture and mildew. I think Ill have another go at posting pics of my cars.
