If youve took good care of her mate she should still be doing round 8 seconds, maybe not quiet, but plenty of oil changes and if shes had alot of good long runs, and some killing on the way then i'm sure the engine should still be in somewhat decent shape.
I don't think i could live without doing any modifications, at least you got some alloys. I'm supprised youve not gone pretty hardcore with it.
Yeah true enough about the gti-r engine, but still FWD from an engine producing so much power would be a real fun car to drive, and when on the roll would still be pretty damn fast, plus it'd rip up all the way, probably still be ripping up with the foot flat down in 4th lol.
I bet with that engine, with some nice wide wheels and tyres, and the car on coils it would be a hell of a fast car, and would probably handle real nice too.
Got to admit though, i'd love a gti-r myself, would make a hell of a car, and yeah using as close to as possible standard body work, use a frontmount intercooler instead of the one that basically sits ontop of the engine, hide it behind some grills, it would put a real shock on most faces, it would be a hell of a sleeper. Just have a decent set of wheels and decent exhaust and loads of people would go for the burn, but then you'd smoke em time and time again, haha it always makes me laugh with the people in the BMW's and mercs and the like, many of them think they are fast, and £ to performance on ALL those cars are crap, i'd always go either skyline, evo or the likes, or of course a small but high spec performance car, weve had so many in BMW's give it their best and they don't even come close, even the 3.0l engines are very dissapointing in my opinion. My brother is currently sorting his corsa B to do a complete 2.0l turbo conversion, its going to be smoking the majority of the cars on the UK roads when done, there won't be so many turbo hot hatches coming past, still though hes still currently band, his year ban isn't up till next year after his previous driving offences

I hope you get a GTI-R someday anyway mate, i bet you'd have a load of fun driving one of those, i'd like one myself, but i think for me abit newer car is on the cards in the future, still going to be doing some nice big powerfull engine conversion to whatever i do get though

Cheeers

well i don't really see the point of spending a whack of cash or an old beaten up 1.4. i mean i'm not the type of guy that would buy a rear can and a set of springs, it would have to be a full system and some coilovers, you know? and i can't justify spending that much cash on something that is nothing more than a runaround.
Plus it aint like you can just buy off the shelf parts for a nissan sunny, everything is gti-r so i would need donar parts from one to even upgrade things. The alloys i got were fairly cheap (£200) and were intentionally bought with the dual fitments (8 holes) so i can swap them between any other runarounds i get while i'm still studying.
Myself i feel a car project is something i'd like to do with my son (if my girl blesses me with one when the time comes a few years down the line), or when i'm a bit older, i mean my dad is a mechanic but he isnt into fast cars or anything which is a bit dissapointing
the only other thing i was willing to do was get a little SR/GTI spoiler on it (not GTI-R) but whenever i see then for sale they are always asking some silly money for it or i'm skint at the time.
the thing i feel with beemers etc is that you need the v8 (or bigger) to get anywhere, i mean the 320s etc are dissapointing at best, however my mates dad has a 740 v8, and my god it's fast. before that he had a fiat coupe turbo he kindly gave me a shot of and told me to "put the boot in it" when the turbo in one of them kicks in its unbeleivable, the g's near gave me whiplash, they are so understated and they would easily blow a scoob or evo away, on the straights anyway
good luck to your brother and his corsa, even though i hate corsas with a passion, just because of the bampots around here. I assume it's a redtop of some sort? calibra 4x4 engine? That will be a fast little corsa.
as long as one day i have myself a GTI-R or a R5 GTT i'll be happy, even just for a track day car. I think when i finish my studies and get a job a 2002 integra type-R is on the cards for me, i LOVE them.
