That depends on the car. A honda at 100k miles is just getting broken into, a ford or chevy.... thats when they start going down hill. Jeeps have very strong engines. But a jeep gc is a gas guzzler and with prices like they are dont expect to go very far very often. I suggest a civic, or something similar thats dependable, easy to maintain, and good on gas.

Nothing irritates me more then using "Ford","Chevy", and "Honda" to sum up cars. The problem is not all Fords and Chevys are unreliable. And not all Hondas are problem free.

I would consider the gas mileage. If thats a concern of your then a Jeep may not be the answer. But they are relatively tough rides.

Honestly once you hit 100,000 miles your in dangerous territory. Even with Hondas somthing is proably going to go wrong. It might not be a major problem, but it could be.

Any car COULD make it to 180K without any major repairs, but my advice is if you dont have the money to fix a major problem if it arises then dont get a car with high milage.

The 100k miles thing has usually been "at 100,000 miles, replace your engine. Or have it rebuilt". You can go a lot longer with ANY car these days (Chevy, Honda, and yes... Ford to) it just depends on how well you take care of it.

Go for gas efficient, you can always sell it and get a Jeep when (ok, if) gas prices go down.

oh and how much do you think it would cost to "rebuild" and\or replace the engine? would rebuilding the engine make the miles on it 0? sorry if these are dumb questions im new to the world of cars.

haha. you can easily get a civic for 2500 dollars.. i just picked up my car today. 2000 honda civic 60,000 miles.. $6000..

i love my car already. im not going to mod it or anything, im just gonna keep it clean.

if you want something fun you drive, you can get an integra.. or you can get an old prelude... mostly all japanese FWD cars... umm.. camrys are nice too.. corollas, celicas.. if you are willing to get a new car.. and you want something different, you could get a Scion xA ... its kinda wierd, but you'll get used to it. i really like it accually.

i recommend getting a civic for gas efficiency.. i get 28/35.. but it doenst even matter. i just drive from school to home and to some girls houses to get some lovin

xBRYAN, yes you need custom mounts for an H22 swap. you also need custom half-shafts made and you need to realize that your turning radius is going to be alot wider.

You wernt planning on racing your car but you want to drive fast? RICER ALERT.

Your car doesnt look bad for a 4 door econo automatic car. I think someone is just looking on honda forums and seing things that others have done with no intention to do them yourself. H22 isnt a good engine to swap in a civic unless you plan on building the bottom end. I picture your car with no engine mods, axleback pissed off bee muffler, some knockoff rims, or even worse, crome rims, giant wing, altezza's, and to top it off, AEM intake.

Do yourself a favor now and get a 5 speed civic, then work your way up. Tranny swaps from AT to 5spd on honda's are retarded, you would spend more money doing a swap than you would buying a 5 speed honda.

Please dont make another 4 door AT civic with muffler and call it "modded" and with an "exaust system" becuase its not.  

All sho and no go is fine with me. Its called style. But I have NO respect for ANY modded show quality car that is automatic. To make a show car out of a honda you need 1. 5 speed tranny. 2. no 4 doors. 3. a full exaust sytstem, this includes headers, high flow cat, and big pipes. The rest is all in what you like I guess.

Pit bull I like your rims, what brand are they? One of the few crome rims I like. Your car needs dropped like a hooker needs an aids test, then it would look hawt, still dont like the auto factor but I doubt your the kind of guy that goes around trying to race from redlight to redlight in an auto civic.

Bryan, you should have stuck with the celica, it was a convertable! Sorry for hatin on you, but Ive had a bad couple of days, my clutch is slippin now because it flooded downtown and nobody had put up road closed signs and... well you get the idea, 4 foot deep water + warm engine = clipping clutch and squeeky alt belt.

Idk why but I hate automatic cars unless they are luxry cars like oldsmobiles or caddy's. sorry guys, Ill try not to be so mean, but Ill still voice my opinion.
