Nope, I had the E model, not the fancier one.  If there is anything fancy about a Dodge Colt.   rolleyes.gif

Well, I don't know a lot about cheap gas efficient cars sol in the States, since I'm European, but if I were you I wouldn't buy anything with over 100HP, this is your first car and considering your demands, I suppose you don't want to spend all your money on it, so buy something that'll last, and not too fast, so you won't destroy it after a few weeks, and more important, won't destroy yourself...

I might sound like a soccermom now, but I'm 18 myself and love cars, but I don't wanna spend every last cent I own on my car, so I bought a 1996 Ford Escort Wagon (a EUROPEAN Escort that is!) 1.8 Turbo Diesel, 90HP, drives decently and is fast enough to get me around in decent traffic + it has very good gas mileage.

Correct me if I am wrong but the 'ol Turbo Sprint has less than 100HP as does a Geo Metro.  I'm pretty sure the Ford Festiva can't be much more than 100HP either.

when the geo metro 1st came out it had a beleive it or not, 3 cylinder engein that was  1.0L and had 55hp.  they started putting  a 4 cyl in them because people couldnt make it up steep hills with people in the car. people had to, no shit, get out of the car and walk aside of it, and somtimes push the car to get it up a steep hill. the 4 bangers that they replaced the 3 cyl was actualy from a Suzuki swift, the bas modles of corse. theese still only have 70hp.

the turbo sprint was basialy the same story as the metro.

and the feestas have 56-65hp depending on what year and modle.

the fact that the engine only weighing only 180 pounds dosnt bring much intrest to me for the sprint.

The turbo in these cars delivers a maximum of 7.5psi of boost, which is enough to help the little one-liter engine move over a pot hole. We're not breaking any records here; it gets 16.2 seconds in the quarter mile, 9.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, and 29.7 seconds from 0 to 100 mph.

so i'd have to say, its a big pile of crap.
i mean small, very small pile of crap.
