1. Dropping anything that's powered into a bucket of water is fucking stupid. Especially if you're talking your OWN house. I don't really care who wired the house. It's just stupid. It's dangerous. Don't do it.

I agree, sorry if that what you though i meant. I wanted him to drop it in some water while complely not hooked up and let it dry mostly. I assume this should work as my friends radio got fried this way in a rain storm with the top down. Your number 2 works just fine anyway.

PS - Sorry for editing your post, i hit edit instead of quote. I didnt change anything though.

ooh.. electricity.. scary...

It can kill you...that doesn't scare you?

And if you have a cd player and it hasn't broken yet why would you want to break it? If you don't like it, sell it and buy a better one.

I'm sure there are people who replied to this and don't know shit about electricity but think they do and come up with this "brilliant" idea to put your cd player in water...smart choice...I'm not saying I know much about electricity because I don't but I know enough to not do that.

And Rylinkus when is that new sig coming man lol...it better be good if it's taking this long muhaha.gif  You know I'm just joking with ya, but I would still like to see a new one with your camaro maybe?

I guess none of the rest of you guys caught this yet but workin in electronics for years, I noticed it right off the bat. First of all when this guy replied to my post he acted like his choice was preferred because shorting the amp (frying the transistors that actually do the amplification) is easily repairable In-shop and they'll send you back out with the same head unit you came in with. ANYONE who knows what they are talking about knows that different brands use different transistors and some are very unique and possibly exclusive to that manufacturer and you have to order it from them. (I ran into this with some sony products) At any rate, it's much cheaper for a company to send the product back and use their manufacturer warranty and just replace the product with merchandise off the floor than to hire a technician to wait around all day for returns, and to stock every transistor (they'd have to stock every piece of electronics in every device if this were really going to happen) for every device that they carry. This guy just knew that with my reply he was an idiot and tried every possible way to convince anyone who read this that he was not. What he really did was confirm it to everyone.

That's how people do it nowadays, manufacturers won't allow their dealers to repair their equipment in most cases. They want their trained staff to do it so if it's still not right at least it's their fault they get the bum wrap. That's why the motto is raplace rather than repair.
