Thinking About Buying A Project Car...

Two cars I have wanted since I was about 12, were the 1970's Lincoln Continental Mark Vs, and the 1980's E30 3-Series sedans. I thought I would just post my ideas for what I would like done to them. I would like your comments on the cars, as I have not driven either of them. I would also like you opinions on which one I should get. Anyways, on with the descriptions:

1984-1990 BMW
318is (M10 Inline 4 @ 105HP) or 325is (M20 B25 Inline 6 @ 170HP)
- $500-1500
- 5 Speed manual

Ive been reading up on these for a while. These are my favourite years and styles of BMW, with the kidney shapes and long full grill, and 4 seperate headlights. I was thinking of getting the 318, since it would come a couple grand cheaper, since I am ripping the engine out regardless. This may provide a bit more cash for what I want to do.

The M10 should get ripped out, and replaced with a SR20DET from an S14 Nissan Silvia. These engines arent that easy to come by where I live (I would have to get one shipped from BC), but they provide a shitload more power, and they weigh relatively the same weight, turbo and intercooler included. Heres a pic of a E30 with the SR20DET (however, kind of showing off):

Also, a bunch of Dinan stuff would probably be thrown in (perf. chip, intake manifold, stage 2 M3 E36 suspension) shortly after, along with a Sachs clutch kit. My friends got a T3 turbo out of an 280sx, which he said he'd give to me for no charge. I would mainly like this to do a bit of racing (track of course  cool.gif), and a bit of a preppy street car. I havent had much of a sporty car since I wrecked my Stealth.

1970-1979 Lincoln Continental
- $500-2000

Ive wanted one of these to cruise in. They are very luxurious, and extremely pimp. The main thing I would want to do to this is make sure the body and interior are mint, maybe cut the springs down a couple inches, and throw some Daytons on. Thats it.

I've always like the BMWs myself. I think they have a VERY nice look and the handling on them is stellar in stock form.
