Can't say I know much about the rims or rubber. Gimme some details. The rims light? Or are they all looks. (I'm not a fan of the looks to be honest.) Never heard of Fusion tires. 400 buvks seems like a good chunk of change to spend on no name rubber. But maybe it's due to the tire size or maybe I'm just not familiar with a decent tire brand. It's hard to keep up on everything in the auto world. Any other mods to the car?

My Yokos are being mounted on my rims tomorrow morn. I shall get pics if I get them on the car tomorrow. I'm very pumped.

Rylinkus: The rims are only 24.34 lbs a peice, plus I love the looks. Fuzion's are, as stated above, a Bridgestone/Firestone tire made for the tuner market. I've heard good things about them and it's better than $400 a TIRE for Potenza's. There are no performance mods to the car... because it is only a Cavalier.

mike96sc2: I hated the old wheels, they were on the car when I bought it. I like the new ones, hence the fact I purchased them. Oh... and I didn't spend more on wheels than what my car is worth, thank you very much. And, yes, I am aware of how performance suffers with the larger wheels, but it's a Cavalier... about looking ricey... I don't really care. The drums were painted when I bought the car and I plan on doing a Baer "big brake" conversion all around when I get the cash.

Damn thats pretty heavy..... are those altezzas in the back?  laugh.gif

I prefer the looks of the altezzas, which again were on the car when I bought it, over the stock tail lights, especially on a white car.

I put 16's on my car to cut the profile a little lower, but I'm pretty sure the bigger the rim the less performance you'll get in things like autocross not to mention with such thin rubber curb rash is going to be really bad pretty quick.

Just a piece of advice to make your car look less ricey would be to take the paint off the rear drums or do a rear disc conversion. It's not cool to show off drum brakes.

Upgraded rear brakes is a waste of money imo... when you brake hard ALL (literally up to 85 percent) of the cars weight slams down on the front tires, thats where all your traction is. This is why most shop will sell a front brake upgrade, instead of the whole kit. But really though, sometime try setting your brake bias to 50/50 and have someone drive your car and slam on the brakes while you watch, i guarentee your rears will lock up before the fronts even though they're just drums.
I love the three piece look, is it fake 3 piece or is it a real 3 piece? Theres a big performance gain from 16 inch to 18 inch. The wrx is basically undertuned by 16 inch wheels, you put just 17's on (like the STi) and its a new car. (i bring this up becuase i learned that from a subaru forum)

I miss my Yoko tires too, they stuck like glue except they wore down quick, but until the end my car never once lost traction or slid no matter what I did.
This means either you or your car is a pussy jester.gif jk

The sideskirts dont look that bad, at least you're working with what you've got, even if it is "just a cavalier".

How would 17 inch rims add performance?
Added Weight?

The Cavy doesn't look that bad. The Altezzas are very much not my style, but I'll stop at that. The sideskirts look decent and the fact that they are white like the car is a plus. The stickers in the rear window bother me. But that's just me since I like my car looking as stock as possible.

im not really sure what forum you would be getting this from but as Ry stated->
bigger=heavier, heavier=slower, therefor by trasitivity bigger=slower (i appoligize for the geeky lameness, it is late and i am tired and avoiding doing my school work).

also... dude ur poor brakes..

i do like the side skirts though.

The old wheels were American Racing Twisted Turners, no longer in production.
