There was a time when I was looking at what it would take to turbo charge my car.

Constructing a tiny turbo is not something thats easy. Precision work in that scale would be a bitch and a half. Anyone ever see the vid on the model Ferrarri that was hand made over like 15 years with fully working engine???? It must be the COOLEST "toy" ever.

every feb. we have a huge r/c show at my county center called the wram show (cant remember wat that stands for, lol) but its huge and last year they accualy had super chargers for .15-.21 size engines
it gave awsome performance and im sure the two put together would be absoultly insane
but any way i have an rc10gt and about $250 worth of aluminum parts in it and it has the associated .15 engine
wat about every one else?

edit: i forgot to say that at teh wram show they had working v-8 engines (for r/c cars) with super chargers on them, they were ment for 1/8 scale dragsters and were amazing biggrin.gif beerchug.gif

I hate to say it but the gains from an super/turbocharger would be negligable at best due to the timing of the engines.

timing doesnt play that big of a roll because all the super charger does is put more air in the engine to produce more power

Actually it does, the intake and exhust ports are open at the same time, so your just blowing a bound air/fuel out of the exhust.

good point but then u just buy a new engine port that allows the exhaust port to be shut just slightly before the intake closes so that u get a little more pressure in the cylinder

That would work, but in the little two strokes rc cars run, you can't just swap a cam shaft. The timing is based on the position of the ports on the cylinder walls. I suppose if manufactures started to offer cylinder sleves designed for boost it could work.

What car does he have?

To bad the sales site doesn't show graphs of the inprovement. I'd like to get my hands on a graph of this nos kit on a inferno mp 7.5 sports
