Some Subs
« on: September 08, 2004, 12:09:00 PM »

I'm going to drop a 10'' in the back of my ranger ext-cab, and I narrowed the choices to either a Infinity Kappa Perfect or a Alpine Type-R. Planning on getting a 500-watt amp, and have a set of 4 Infinity component speakers. Any suggestions would be cool.

It's not the advertising... I'm not a big alpine fan, but I liked the sound. I'll look into those Oz'es, but I didn't like the sound of the MTX's. My cab is small, and the sub is right behind my seat. Thanks for the help.

the alpine subs are great.  Cheap, and they pound, AND will last.  The E12 is what I have, and it's all I'll need for my compact.
And Infinity Kappa's are a great choice.  They are the best sounding for quality and clarity!
xFusion, for those sound competitions, they don't always use the same stereo/wire/amp setup for each system...

*PUKE*

So much trash.

If you want some real bass, I'm gonna have a bunch of MTX 1501Ds and Fosgate 1500BDs up on eBay in the next few days. I'm also putting up 2 MTX RFL 152EX woofers with 5 recone kits.

He want's sound quality so this was the worst possible response... you must be very proud of yourself...

MTX will get very loud, but will also sound like crap doing it...

The Kappa perfect WILL blow with 500 watts RMS, they do not underrate the thermal limits of their VQ's.

I have a 12" Kappa Perfect, and while it sounds good, there are alot better for SQ...

What kind of budget are you talking about?  Do you want it sealed or ported?

Consider IDQ's they have great SQ
