QUOTE (nemt @ Sep 9 2004, 06:54 PM)
I guess I'm "rediculous" then, because Nissan, despite being based in Japan, is owned by a French company.  It's not some hidden secret; it's just a corporate fact.  If you buy a Nissan, profits go to France.

..and to clarify, yes, I have praised the 240sx extensively in this forum, however I don't see where that conflicts with my statements about who owns Nissan.  The 240sx stopped production for North American export in 1997, and buying a used car doesn't benefit the automaker, unless you happen to buy it at certain dealerships, which would rarely be the case on a model more than five years old.  Additionally, saying you like a certain car and saying you like where it comes from are two completely different concepts.  The Taliban might make some amazing sports car, doesn't mean I'd want to buy it.

Also, the Supra in and of itself isn't a piece of garbage, if you look at my post, I said "your supra" meaning his specifically, as a reflection of his lack of taste in modifications.  I don't know or care what he has inside, because it's plain to see the kid is a complete moron just from the exterior.

Take your head out of your ass for a second and spot out why you can tell that I am a moron? You seem to lack any automobile knowledge whatsoever, I not only run one of the largest generation specific supra forums, but I have been in the game for 6 years and counting. You are what, 19? You haven't had your liscense long enough to teach anyone here something they didn't already know. As for my name, SupraKid, its a name I have had for a long time, and it stuck.

As for you, look at this..

If that is really your car, I really don't see WHERE the hell you get the idea that my exterior modifictions (all TRD) are not tasteful.... that is one of the most hideous cars I have ever seen, and I am sure everyone here could agree.

Instead of turning this thread into shit, I will contribute more to the topic....

That in no way means that it is a french car... as for the snarkyness about spelling (i know i cant spell and dont care to check), i fail to see the relavence about cars... i see it instead as a desparate attempt to "burn me" for pointing out that you dont know what the hell you are talking about.

I run Focal mids/highs, Zapco amp/eq's, and Eclipse subs.. I tried to stick with mainly top of the line brands which are reputable, after listening to various other setups. Thanks for the compliments smile.gif

I'm tha same way with my stereo... I have a sub that can be loud but it sounds best in quality rather than quanity (I have 1 10" JL w6v2... now I just need a suitable amp that'll actually work!... I'v gone through 2 and they both crapped out on me for whatever reason)

But you didn't answer whether or not ur engine is completely rebuilt... and how many horses are you pumpin' without tha can?

EDIT: forgot a word, haha

Nice sub... look into getting a 500/1 if you are looking for a nice amp.

As for the motor, its in the works smile.gif So no dyno #'s as of yet until its finished.

laugh.gif   Anyways, I am also curious to see as to why nemt thinks the Supra is a worthless POS and why he claims that Suprakid knows nothing about modding cars?

That's what I last had, a 500watt... but tha same thing happened to me to it as did tha previous one... it just goes into protect mode as soon as it turns on.  I think it has something to do with tha ground but I don't know exactly what would be wrong with it, lol... (because I tried hookin' it up to my cousin's setup and it worked fine, but when I put it back in my car, it just went to protect(it actually says "diag" on this amp)) I think I'm just gunna try an Audiobahn next time (Either a 500watt of their intake series or a 560 watt (or maybe it was 600...) of that other series... don't remember what it was called.

And I'll be lookin forward to those numbers smile.gif

blink.gif   Methinks something is screwy with your wiring.  Anyways, Eclipse subs are great for sound quality but I am with you.  I run a couple of 10" W0 JL subs and they are great.  Not the best for power handling but they are among the best for accuracy and clarity.  wink.gif  *EDIT* sorry about that GEO post, I was responding to yazzz's comments.

Where to begin, where to begin......

The car is a Delfino. A nice car, but I doubt its his since last time we had a thread like this he posted something else ridiculous. My spelling check out nemt?

I don't think the Supra looks like shit. But since we seem to like shitting on cars Ill throw in my toughts. I like Supras. But the majority I see are nothing more then dyno queens that can barely out run my car in the 1/4 which is a really sad thing. A 1000hp car is all fine and good, but if it's unusable power it's a moot point. Supras are still wonderful cars though.

Partial ownership or even full ownership does not necessarily mean that the original company is not still in control of their quality. I think you'd find that Nissan is still very in control of their cars. Seems to me they have won several reliability awards over the past few years, placing ahead of Toyota, Mazda, Ford, and yes, gasp, even Peugot.

Also, I find that very often nemt seems to like to argue for the sake of arguing. Personally I like to think he works for Bill Gates since he seems to be so pro-windows/anti-linux, even while praising all the benefits that an os like FreeBSD shares with linux. (BTW, almost as a sick experiment Im running ME if that makes you sleep well at night.) Anyway, take what he says with a grain of salt. And a shot of tequilla and youll be fine.

You blew out two different JL amps?   blink.gif   Methinks something is screwy with your wiring.

No, they weren't JL amps... although I prolly shoulda started out with one, lol... they were wierd brands that I never heard of.  But they both worked fine.  Tha first one I had was just a 200 watt amp (can't remember what tha brand was... I'll look in a few minutes), it was all I had at tha time... but one day while I was driving it just shut off, but when I restarted tha car it worked again.  But one day it shut off again and never started again.  (that was the amp that I tried in my cousins setup).  So I went to an audio shop and got some amp that looked pretty, lol (A really dark charcoal color like tha Lexus IS300 but not glossy with a chrome badge haha)... it's a 500 watt and cost me $220.  That time I had THEM install it since I did tha last one.  But tha same problems occured.  So I know it's not tha wiring (or at least I doubt it).  Tha brand of that one is called Special Edition... never heard of it, and haven't seen it anywhere else, not even on tha net... but whatever... I'll juss sell it on ebay or somethin'... or return it, haha.  And they didn't blow (I edited my post with an instance with my cousins setup), they still work... just not with my car for whatever reason.

What kind of car do you drive (pic?), I know what you mean about some supras having unusable horsepower, but dyno competitions do exist, and majority of the ones that have that kind of power are not always made for a track. 1000rwhp+ track supras do exist, and yes they are fast.

Unusable horsepower to me is when you get no traction on the street.. from a roll, from a stop, whatever.. thats pointless to me.  wink.gif

My goal is not to break any records, just build a nice quick car... 400-550 rwhp and I will be a happy man smile.gif

blink.gif (BTW, my mod list is posted around here somewhere in a few places. And it's not even updated....  wink.gif  )

400-500 hp seems right about right. My bud used to have a Fairlady Z TT. Jim Wolfe upgrades (Intake, exhaust, chip) with a whopping 397 rWHP. At 70 he could be in 3rd or 4th and floor it and break his tires free. It was fast and fun and my guess is would have gotten slower with more HP.

Take all my critiscisms of Supras in context. I'd gladly own one.  wink.gif
