Learn Repair

There literally hundreds of online car forums. You could read up on your particular car and maybe find a few cheap or eve free mods to do to it and maybe learn to do some repairs. Or you can just peruse forums in general getting info.

I've been memebers on
www.probetalk.com
www.mx6.com
www.vwvortex.com
among others.

You could also buy a repair manual for your car and maybe try a few minor repairs yourself. Working on cars has taught me far more then reading. Even offer to help any friends you may have with their car repairs if they are doing them themselves.

I recently got a repair manual for my buick, unfortunately I really dont know much about cars. Just some basics. Heh... I managed to replace my headliner a few days ago, but damned thing is starting to bubble in some spots.

Uhh random ranting ....

experience is probably the best teacher.  take an auto class in school, or just ask people you know who know stuff about cars to help you.
