A few added thoughts......

1. No offense, but who the hell is gonna pay a Buick Century a 2nd glance? It's not like my car or Jesterrace777 where the stereo is openly visible through the hatches glass for anyone that walks by and looks over. Odd are very few people are gonna start prying into trunks on an older car like your expecting treasure unless they know it's there to begin with. It's much easier to just knock out a window on a car like mine and run.

2. Don't advertise. Don't brag about your stereo to everyone anbd don't play it near places you commonly park unless you consider them safe.

3. Some sort of car alarm never hurt.

4. Bolt everything down. It's a lot more time consuming to have to remove bolts and screws, (assuming the would be thief even has the tools) Most criminals dont wanna stick around most places that long lifting a stereo. So make it hard to take to deter would be thiefs

My stereo is bolted to my car.
Basically I pulled all the side panels in my hatch and then the carpet. I cut a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to match the bases shape. I ran wires and drilled holes in the wood so they could pop up in apprpriate places. Then I screwed the plywood to my car. From there I dropped the carpet making holes for the wires. Put the side pieces back in. Fastened the carpet to the wood via staple gun in the least conspicuous places. (Don't want sloppy work) And then I bolted my sub box and amp and cap right to the wood. It IS removable, but without a screw driver and ratchet set it isn't. And it's certainly gonna waste someones time trying to get it.  wink.gif

Thats good advice, thanks.

I havent bolted anyting down in my trunk. Problem is that the fuel tank is right below the sub box, and Im to scared to try drilling.

muhaha.gif Unless they wanna hack into the console (and possibly have to remove some of the dash) just to remove a stereo, they might not bother.

Hire a 14 year old drug addict to sit in your car with the gun and watch the stereo. 10 to 1 says he shots the thief, takes all the guys money, and then steals the stereo and your cas as well to support his habit.
