My mom owns a 94 Volvo 740 turbo. It's an ATX. Not the fastest, but not slow. Heated leather and all that crap. Sometimes luxury and refinement make up for losing some speed. An A4 is a nice nice car, even in ATX. Itll still be fast. Sometimes ATXs are nice (Opening a soda while driving.) And newer ATXs are pretty decent with shift points anyway.

Havo, I may be good with PCs and Xboxes, but cars are my forte.

and modest too, ey renaissance man?

Anyway...I would've gone with the 240SX.

Naw, I actually know about cars. I've got a new small project under way that I'll post pics of as I get going. I'm sure it'll impress no one.   wink.gif

As for a 240SX. Nice car, but a bit over rated. The KA isn't a bad engine, but certainly not what it could be and the SR engine swap is costly and time consuming then most people initially think when getting into the swap. Sadly I think it's far more difficult to make one fast  then most people think.

That being said the A4 haws some veri nice features. Points 1-5 being class and refinement, something NO 240SX will ever have. And AWD and 4 doors are nice touches for people who need to use their car for something other then racing (Which is about 99% of the population sadly.) A4 is not a bad car at all.

laugh.gif .. and they are very nice cars.. stock, if everything is where its supposed to be and in working order, they are nice cars to drive. And i think the RX7 wouldn't have been to great of a choice.. i wanted one, almost bought one. but didnt. I dont know why, i just didnt. Later on I met some people who had real bad experiences with RX7's with the seals and what not. But the audi isnt a bad choice, I wouldn't mind pushing one around  smile.gif

OH, btw. I have a rb25 in my 93 fastback  cool.gif

Yes on the older RX-7s the seals do fail pretty easily.  The newer ones are more durable, however if you are really getting into modding and street racing you can easily replace the seals with more reliable ones

As a real MAZDA fan I have a very deep respect for the rotary engines. And I've kept my car even though there are cheaper options. BUT.......
There is a point where owning a car that will NOT remain drivable is a bad idea if you don't have a very large income.

I have had 2 friends. One with a gorgeous FD. One with an 11 second TSI. Both were on the road almost as much as my Probe was off it in the span of a year, 2-3 months. (I think there was even a time when the TSI was running and my Probe wasn't) So while both were great cars when running, when they weren't they were hell. And we did every recommended mod to make the FD reliable. Just such a nice looking car, so hard to give up. Hella cooling mods. Single turbo swap to reduce heat. Upgraded Apex seals. Yadda Yadda, money money. The thing still blew it's 2nd engine after 1 month of getting it installed.

We ALMOST dropped and LT1 into it, but it would just kill the spirit of the car. I hope someday to own one. It is truly one of the most beautiful cars ever built and ranks up there with Astons and Ferrarris and Lotuses as far as looks go. But as far as unreliable cars I need to stay cheaper at this point in my life.

well.. i got the audi.. here are some pics i took in my garage
mycar

it looks pretty nice for being a $7500 car, and it makes 190 horse at 5500rpms... too bad it isn't manual though sad.gif

well since you have $7500 left over check out

Club B5  Its mostly the VW passat, but I think that most products are universal.  And the engines are similar.  Is it a 2.8l V6 or 1.8l turbo?  Also, most people on that site will point you in the right direction.

Also, check out AWE Tuning and select your car and you can get a supercharger for the V6 which will give you 295HP i believe (it may be only on the Passat, but I think I've seen a site with an Audi that had one).  Be very happy you got the Audi.  The Audis and VWs are surprisingly very mod-able.

I have other sites. Message me on AIM.

Is it possible to drop one of the new RX-8 Renesis engines in one?  They are supposed to have worked out the bugs that were problematic with the 14B Rotaries. wink.gif
