Yea Im looking for either 12" or 15" and when i start working ill save up and have enough for 2 subs in about 2 months lol the subs alone im guessing will be 2 grand or a little less

Whoa there man.  Unless you are planning on getting into competitions there is no reason to be running more than 500-600 watts.  While it seems cool at first to have a soundsystem that can be heard for 6 city blocks, you start realizing that you really can't use it for that on a regular basis, and while it might be cool at first to be listening to subs at thier full potential it gets old real fast.  Also I don't know where you live but most cities have sound ordinances where you can earn yourself a fat fine.  Anyways I would say that unless you are planning on getting into professional competitions that you would be just fine with a pair of 12" JL Audio W6s.  They aren't going to handle 1000+ watts or anything but trust me when I say you don't need anywhere near that much with a good amp.  A pair of 12" JL W6s will run you about $450-$500.  With a nice JL Audio Amp that is matched to them the amp and subs should run you about 1K.  I have 2 10" JL Audio W0 subs with 400Watts mono running to them and my car can probably be heard for about 100 feet.  Not saying that it is the most impressive sound system out there,  I am just trying to give you an idea of what kind of sound projection you would have (a pair of 12s would be much louder).  I think that some people just go way overboard and blow 3K-4K on a stereo without really realizing what they are getting into.  Fortunately, I had a bunch of buddies who went through countless setups during high school so I got a pretty clear picture of what it was that I really wanted before committing a bunch of money to a sound system.

have you ever even picked up a crutchfield?  No offense but you don't need anything EXCEPT a stock sound system until you can put forth the effort to learn the right terms to be using where...

I have competition 6X9's and they won't handle 1/4 of what you're talking about and they have 40oz sub-woofer magnets...(provided you ment to say watts, not amps)

My advice still stand for 6x9s, Infinity Kappas are my favorite. Alpines are real nice if you dont plan on runing an amp to them.

I hope you pick up a big-ass amp to back those up.  blink.gif  1,000 watts would be starving one for power.  blink.gif

I personally like eclipse for pretty much any regular car speakers.  Not the greatest for bass but if you have a couple of 12" JLs that is definitely NOT going to be an issue.  Anyways if you really want to go all out MB Quart delivers unbelievable sound.  Yes there will be a big price differential between Eclipse and MB Quart.  The only thing I will tell you is to avoid polk audio speakers.  They blow out about as fast as the Sony Xplod series.  Incidentally I now have a few pics of my car and sound system (not the greatest since they were taken with an old 35mm camera and then scanned in, but they are still decent).  If anyone is interested, I will post them.

sad.gif  It is mounted right behind my passenger seat.  This keeps it out of sight, while still giving me easy access if I should want to tweak the settings.

The last one is of my subwoofer box, which houses two 10" JL Audio W0 subs (can't take credit for this, it was custom built). The idea was to blend it in with the car for security reasons.  To the person just walking by it looks like a part of the car.  The subs are covered by that black grill cloth that is dead center.  The circular towers to the left and right house my 6.5" Eclipse full ranges.

You will have to forgive me as I can't get the hosting to work properly, so I will just link it to another place where I have all 3 posted. wink.gif  I hope it works.   unsure.gif
