I don't and never will consider a well done show car rice. Not everyone wants to go fast. We all have different priorities as far as what we want our car to do. Whether it be go fast, handle well, look good, have a huge stereo, drive over shit, or be a luxurious ride. It's all acceptable. Or should be. If I didn't care about speed, I may very well have modded my car to look sweet.

How far do you have to go into engine mods to make it not rice? Whats been done to your car?

Ummm... most of the people I know who drive imports and listen to rap music aren't teens.  More in their early to mid twenties.

Correct me if I am wrong but you drive a BMW right?  Which technically is an import is it not (even though it's not from Japan)?   I kinda see what you mean but I think they chose to follow the Fast and the Furious more than Rapper Videos.  Rap is quite prevalent in those movies but they all drive modded out imports.  Just a thought.

I guess the reason for the giant wing is so that it is proportional to the oversized exhaust tip. My real question is why they need down force on there "trailer" when they have 300 lbs of stereo equipment in the back holding down the back end. I never have understood the concept of taking an economy car and converting it into a race car. If I did want a car like that to go fast I think I would start by removing weight not adding it. Then again I don’t listen to rap ether.

CamaroGuy, what year camaro do you got? I have a couple of them. 01 Black SS, 6 speed, supercharged and a 95 Z28

Nothing is worng with a probe, Im just saying thats a good example of a domestic car thats popular with the tuner crowd (whats wrong with the tuner crowd is the real question).

I don't know about being popular with the tuner crowd. I am a member of Probetalk and MX6.com and though there are plenty of members I don't think we even come close to rivaling Civic owners. Or Neon owners for that matter.

Import owner or Domestic by whatever definition you chose tons of people do stupid things with any car. There's only 4 "modded" Probes around here that I know of. I see 3 at the track often. My Red 2nd gen. A Black 2nd gen like mine but slower. And a hot black first gen, driven by a hot brunette.    Then there's the Green thing. Neon green. Wing. Lights and shit. Ugly as hell. No performance mods.  

If you get into Mustangs though, there's about half a dozen with LEDs and neons all over them. Aluminum wings. The wonderful cannon style exhausts. Zex and NOS stickers on their car at the same time. Altezza tails.

People can ruin any car if given the chance. One of the nicest cars in this area IMHO, is a 94 300ZX TT. The idiot that owns it added his aluminum wing and added DUCT TAPE!!!!! racing stripes. Talk abot ruining a gorgeous car.

And there's a reason it's generally shitty Neons, Foci, and Civics being turned into rolling jokes. That's what most highschool kids can afford. If they had a larger bankroll I'm sure we'd see the same shit on much nicer cars.
