BTW, to stay technical, the LT1/LS1 engine will fit under the hood of a V6 Camaro. Though I believe you need motor mounts and tranny. Either of those engines are quite impressive, even in stock form........

I was going on and on about putting a lt1 in my caprice for the longest time and then I realized, I COULD just buy an Impala SS, in the end it'd be cheaper, and I wouldn't have to worry about everything falling out when I got 210+++ (everyday)((backwards))(((on slicks)))((((in the snow))))   (((((i'll stop now)))))

yea...goes to 220...or at least his does.  he's done a lot of work on it and customized a lot in and on it.  I dunno if he replaced the spedometer or not.

Top speed does not make a car fast. My mom's mercedes tops out around 170, but I doubt anyone would call it "fast"

Depends on how good of a driver you are.  If you have a good feel for the clutch, manual will always accelerate faster and have a higher top speed.  If you or (if your racing) your opponent aren't good with shifting, the automatic will accelerate faster....

If you were truly skilled you wouldn't need to speed and show off and lose your license in the first place.

This old pimp who lived in my neighborhood used to say he never bragged about how many women he had because a true pimp didn't need to. I think the same goes for here, if the ones who brag on here had half the skill they think they do they wouldn't need to brag about it at all, they'd be too busy in real racing or whatever else to care about the internet.

Those who can do it go out and do it, those who can't come onto x-s's forums and claim they do it better.

Gearing and rev limiter often create top speeds long before the aerodynamic drag outdoes a car's engine.......
