WHOA, WHOA. Hold on, now thats a fine automobile you got pics of jester and i would love to own one (if only they werent so damn rare).

On the  topic of a celica being fast, its not the GT-S only has 180bhp and has a 0-60 time of 7.8 secs (really bad). Not to mention all the mods in the world will just make it look trashy (its still a toyota).

As for what i drive, i do enjoy my car and no it didnt spend 100k on some ferrari or lambo. I got a BMW 540i, which is by no means a fast car but could still leave you in the dust easily.

Although i would like to sell it and get on of those new Mercedes-Benz cars coimg out ( XLS or somethig weird), but i dont think i can rationalize paying that much even if i took out a loan (75k). My car now was hard to bring myself to buy (got it for 49k, sticker was like 54,999). Kinda make me mad i got it like a year ago and now they are making a new BMW 6-Sereis, but oh well thats what happens when you buy a car.

  Anyways what is the 0-60 on your car?   Don't get me wrong BMWs are great cars but I think it's rediculous for you to come out and talk shit about a Celica when you are comparing a $50K car to a car that is under $20K.   I still say that with $30K worth of mods the Celica could beat the crap out of your car and you would then have to live with the humiliation of being beaten by a Toyota.

No i have 4yrs payment and about 1 and a half are done.

I belive the 0-60 time on my car is like 6.6 secs (give or take .1). Its probably twice the size a a celica too. Not that i ever could get beat by him, because i dont race i know my car isnt a speed car (he doesnt seem to understand his car isnt fast either) . Its just alot nicer than a toyota.

And if we are going to add stuff to make the car faster i could do that as well but i dont because my car was fine when i bought it (unlike a celica).

You are missing the point.  Yes you could mod your car to make it even faster but the point is that with the money you spent on your BMW he could easily mod his Celica to beat your BMW AND STILL HAVE MONEY TO SPARE!!!!    He understands just fine what his car is capable of and if you read his description a little more carefully you would discover that he is doing things to modify it to make it faster.  He didn't come out and say his was the best car in the world.  He just said he really likes his Celica and what he has done to it.  You on the other hand came out like a pompus ass and told him that his car sucked because he only spent $20-$30K tops on it and that it couldn't go over 13 MPH (yes, I realize that last part was a joke).  However you calling someone a loser because they like thier car and they only spent $20-$30K on it just proves you are stuck up snob.

OK i am back, just so you know i am not calling him a loser for having a celica (well alittle bit but that was meant as a joke). I was making fun of him because the topic is FAV CAR, not the best car you own.

I just think he could maybe set his sights alittle higher than a celica, i mean if you made a topic called dream job i would hope no one would come in and say "burger king drive through worker". Since that would be a very low thing to shoot for.

And if he likes his car great (but i still hate it), its just not my type of car. I like big cars with nice insides. Yes i do like saying i own a BMW thats why people buy cars like BMW, Lexus, Benz and so on, if all i wanted was to get around i would ride a bike (or moped so i can still beat the celica).

EDIT: And like i said i did not buy my car to be that fastest car around (its 4 doors), but i think its sad its still faster than a celica (which he bought to be fast, but isnt).

but that's just it, the topic isn't "dream"car- it's "Fav" as in 'favorite' which I doubt needs further explanation.  It wasn't a pissing contest, or an attempt to prove 'his' car was better than anyone else's.

I guess that is at the root of the difference here.... and alot can be concluded about a person by a statement like that.    I am not here to criticize that ideal; that's just fine if that is the way you look at owning something.  It is completely opposite from my personal opinions, but hey, that's life.  

I come from a wealthy family.  I grew up riding around in cars that you would no doubt drool over,  but there was a hint more class about the way it was handled.  I would never hear my father name drop the brand of car he drove to illicit admiration, never would I hear him criticize something simply because it was less expensive.   As a matter of fact, he always had a love for american muscle cars, despite the fact that he drove luxury cars exclusively throughout the time I grew up.  Cars that had vinyl seats, noisy engines, cheap sticker prices, etc....  because he knew that these cars represented the heart of what made the automobile great in the first place, even if it wasn't his style.

The bottom line is respect.  People who have truly made it in life on their own through hard work will usually have that.  People who want everyone else to think they have made it, never will.

I couldn't have said it better guys.  The issue is not which car is better, the issue is that Shamo spent $20K on a car he loves and Hercules spent $50K on a car to boost his ego.  Well after spending $20K, shamo still has a car he loves and after $50K Hercules has still proven that he is a loser.  BTW Hercules while you are busy thinking about how much better you are than everyone because you own a BMW, consider the following:  You couldn't afford your BMW outright, so you are only lying to yourself if you think you are better than someone who spent $20K on a Toyota.  You are a Yuppie wannabe.  A rich person could've bought the car upfront but you had to set up a 4-year payment plan.  So your "status" is all for naught as it is a lie.  I have no problem with the people who make payments on thier cars but to come out and bash someone for having a $20K car, when you yourself couldn't afford your $50K car upfront is just rediculous.
